Now if only someone would remaster The Secret of Magic Island
Exactly. And, Ryan and I grew up during this time when a lot of horror filmmakers and producers were making kids films and we vibed with a lot of that stuff. Who doesn't like a fun family film? Shit, if I could do a UHD of Homeward Bound - you bet your ass I would do it.

Genji Nakamura's Go for Broke aka V Madonna: Daisenso from 1985 would fit right in at Terror Vision! Pretty crazy film and I love it! I think it's title worth looking into.

Big fan. That got a theatrical release in Japan but I've been speaking with the owners for a couple years on that one.

Shit man, I was traveling a couple years ago and watched it alone in my hotel room while eating pizza and cried. Still gets to me. As an animal lover and working in rescue and dog rehabilitation in my youth - when it comes to pups...I can get pretty emotional.

My dog passed a year ago. She meant the world to me. I was watching Mr. Destiny (Belushi) a few weeks back, and there is a scene near the end where his dog kisses his face and I just burst out crying.

Can’t watch many movies like Homeward Bound. Always gets me emotional. Love animals too much. Give me a dog over a person any day of the week.

Sorry to hear about your pup. Losing an animal is devastating. Agreed, I would rather hang out with pups all weekend rather than meeting someone new - pups are always there for you. I have 3 rescues now and every day is amazing with these furballs. Sorry to sidetrack from the film talk! Back on schedule now.

But still, most of it is surprisingly enjoyable (for the whole family ) and perfect for annual October/Halloween viewing.

I doubt that it will likely happen anytime soon but:
I'm hoping someone will properly restore and release quality Blu-rays of both Shadow Zone My Teacher Ate My Homework (1997) & When Good Ghouls Go Bad (2001).
I freakin' love those types of movies. I would especially love When Good Ghouls Go Bad, we watch it every October in our house. It oozes Halloween spirit.

I created a wishlist thread years ago on this very topic.

And you know what, none of them have hit blu-ray yet

At least, the Boogedy films finally got a DVD which was slightly better than my VHS rip...

"Oozes Halloween spirit" may be my new favorite way to describe When Good Ghouls Go Bad (2001).
Glad (or is it relieved?) to know that I'm not the only person out there who loves, or even just remembers, all of this crap and needs it all released on Blu-ray sometime very soon!
Did I say crap? I mean... "not crap"
Love your list of films by the way, I'd totally be willing to purchase Blu-rays of... pretty much all of them. Ha ha!

I don't see why it's not in the TT wheelhouse, but hey it's not my wheelhouse.

Saw Quintet in the theater when it was released and to this day of everyone I've talked to I am the only one who liked it. I haven't seen it since waiting for a proper home video release. Considering the director not sure why that hasn't happened.
I kind of like Quintet. It's definitely an interesting film. My main problem with it is the Vaseline filter look. It's really distracting.

Count me in for wanting the kids movies to roll out. I remember seeing The Peanut Butter Solution as a kid and being convinced I had hallucinated half the shit in that movie. Then I saw the Severin release, and I had actually not hallucinated that one. I have fond memories of renting out Moonbeam Entertainment tapes, and other assorted kids fair, any of those would be wonderful to get proper upgrades or even releases of... I'm also in for any and all dog movies.

If TV did anime I hope they'd put a "not for kids" on the slip or give us a sticker to apply lol. One of my strongest video store memories was walking past the anime as a kid and seeing Barefoot Gen with that label. Other stuff looked salacious or with horror stuff, but it's just a running kid on the cover, and seemed so much more menacing because of it. That cover is so seered into my mind. I've still never actually watched that one either, apparently it is actually horrifying.

BradTV, would be sick to see the weirdo 1970 Russian kids film The Secret of the Iron Door get a proper release.

Barefoot Gen (1983) is f*cking awesome!
Brutal, depressing, but awesome.
Discotek Media released it on Blu-ray along with the sequel Barefoot Gen 2 (1986).
I highly recommend checking them out.

I'm not against them releasing kids movies if they want, they can release whatever they want to obviously and I'm sure everything they release will be great to different people. However with a subscription model that really doesn't work out well for many people I wouldn't think. I seriously cannot imagine that most people are signing up for the subscription expecting a mix of kids films in there. There was mention that some movies would be outside of the sub and honestly kids movies should fit in that group. Maybe down the road there could be variations of subs like a family friendly one, a horror one, a foreign one etc, though obviously that will take time to get to a point where that could happen. But until then there really should be a way to say skip certain movies from your sub because I feel like with this info that will likely deter some people such as myself from resubbing now.

If you still don't agree, think of it on the flipside, lets say they said "Hey we are going to release a ton of kids movies, but there will be some porn in there too" if you were wanting to sub to save money and get tons of kids movies, many people aren't going to be happy that porn is thrown in there too. Obviously you can mix genres in a sub, but I do think going from horror to kids movies is too far of a gap unless you happen to have kids that you could maybe give them those films. I'm not trying to make anybody mad, and not trying to tell anybody how to do their business as I'm sure they are going to do great, again I love Terror Vision, I have loved everything I have got from them thus far. I just wanted to throw more thoughts out there about it to see if anything I said makes sense or perhaps might help come up with possible solutions.
