well Best buy got rid off its Disney100 4K blu ray stock in December '23. I went to Athens, GA store on three occasions mainly for price matching (bought each copy for 18 USD + tax which got price matched to 10 USD). There were a few copies of Cinderella left. SW was gone. Personally, I think both movies did well (SW mainly) but idk about the sales figure.

Maybe they'll license it sooner rather than later, given the current decline of the streaming business model. The TV on disc era is basically gone, but we can hope for a treat every now and then. I never imagined that Disney would ever release Disney+ series on physical media. I was really shocked ![]() |

Schaeffer says one of the scenes that particularly stands out as unexpectedly beautiful is Cinderella’s coach ride through town.
“And now with the technology we have available, you actually see the lit coach going through the dark streets of town with the reflection about,” he gushes. “It’s just truly beautiful.” https://www.polygon.com/century-of-d...4k-disney-plus Kevin Schaeffer is director of restoration at Disney. |

Watched it again last night and loved seeing it all over again, a masterpiece.
I didn't know this was considered a musical, I just thought it was a romantic Disney cartoon movie with some music pieces. Snow White, Cinderella, and Pinocchio are easily my top 3 Disney classics to watch. |

Are you talking about the fairy godmother scene? That's how the line has always been. I don’t remember her ever saying “Another one?”, just “Another?”

I checked the Diamond Edition Blu-ray and she doesn't say "another one?" just "another?" in both audio options. The subtitles however do have "another one".
So either it's not a mistake and the mistake is in the subtitles or it's a mistake that was there early on. I tend to believe the mistake is in the subtitles because looking at her mouth it doesn't seem like she says "one". |

I'm glad that this movie got released on physical media and 4K Ultra HD quality. I also hope Disney never forgets about "Cinderella", because making the movie saved them from going bankrupt back in 1950.
Here's something interesting. While Cinderella was at the ball, she did something that, if she had done it as a guest at a Disney Park, might have gotten her ejected from the park. At one point she and the prince are walking by the fountain. She sticks her right hand into the water of the fountain: CIN_HAND_FOUNT.jpg It makes the water sparkle beautifully, as you can see: CIN_WAT_SPRKL.jpg Just two months ago, at EPCOT Center, somebody decided to jump into the fountains next to The American Adventure pavilion and got ejected from the park for it. https://www.disneydining.com/epcot-g...al-anthem-em1/ Just goes to show you that Cinderella isn't perfect. No human is. |

Also, it's pretty sad we have ZERO new classic Disney cartoons. Really just awkward and weird I really detest whatever the hell leads Disney these days. |

I do respect the 2D traditionally animated films of the past, because without 2D traditional animation, we would not have 3D computer animation. I also like claymation films such as "Frankenweenie" and "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit". If at any point I sounded like I had a.vendetta, it was not against 2D traditional animation, but against one user who seemed fiercely determined to badger Disney into making another movie that was made using 100% 2D traditional animation. I attempted to convince this user that Disney wouldn't do that, because between 1995 to 2009, Disney's 3D computer animated movies earned more money than their 2D traditionally animated movies, and the gap grew as the years progressed. I was trying to show this user that he/she didn't have as many allies as he/she thought. After some back-and-forth, I found that this user was not vehemenrly opposed to 3D computer animation, and that this user now understood why 2D animation had gone out of style. I apologize if I upset you. Are we good now? |

But I can't deny the other decades and their masterpieces. The 90s also had a nutter run of films for me personally, so that's always going to be a peak of storytelling at least. Obviously, the advent of digital changed everything, so it's hard to compare things in that regard. I think of the newer ones, Moana lifts itself up pretty high, and I did enjoy Tangled and a host of Pixar stuff, mixed with a lot of lame, but it's just not quite the same I guess. We just don't have that magical animation style going anymore. |
