I kind of wish they didn't go so overboard with the yellow in the Detour poster. I don't see why her lipstick has to be yellow to for instance.

Okay, I have not been of much help lately, but I can hunt for what others are thinking so...
A few people on CriterionForum are arguing that Stars (1959) is hinted at. This wouldn't be the first time a relatively unknown German film was hinted at in the Newsletter Clue. In addition, another user says the man on the right looks like Danny Kaye, but they cannot think of a film starring him that prominently features a baby. Except, The Court Jester (1955) features a baby as the rightful heir to the throne... It also isn't on Blu-Ray yet. |

![]() I remember being with a friend a number of years ago and asking him to hand me "the yellow one." He was like, "WTF are you talking about?" We had this argument for a little while, until it was clear that there was no "yellow one," and what I was looking for was a bottle that was light green. Heh. |

Great news if Criterion does release Diamonds of the Night...but this is causing me some stress with the release from Second Run due out in a couple of weeks, and it is on the top of my want list.
Do I wait? What if the clue is for another film? I always prefer to have a Region A release in case my region modded Oppo craps out. Especially if they are oranges to oranges in terms of A/V quality (guessing the same master would be used for both). Oh my, first world problems. |

With the upcoming release of To Sleep With Anger, does Criterion have the inside track to license other titles originally distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Company?
Or do Kino, Shout, etc., stand a better chance of securing a TSGC-distributed film for release? I'm interested in the following: Gregory's Girl Dance With A Stranger Flirting The Secret of Roan Inish Angels & Insects Big Night TIA |

Also, I don't think you need the Region A since I doubt your region modified Oppo will crap out. I think I still own just about every different region-free flagship model from Oppo (DVD and Blu-ray), and they all still work just fine. It's up to you, but again, I would grab up the Second Run release of Diamonds of the Night. ![]() |
