Custom Cover Art Thread

When printing out these custom covers, does anyone have a recommendation as to what kind of paper (type/brand) and does anyone have a recommendation on a particular printer?

Looking to buy a new printer and I figured I would check with the experts here.

I can't comment on the printer, but I (and many others) prefer HP Brochure Glossy Paper.

And on that note, I'm interested in what disc labels folks on here prefer.

Hey, newbie here. Just started customising yesterday and I'm stumped when it comes to creating the back of the cover. I'm having trouble finding a good simple font for the description text on the back. I'm also using Photoshop CS2. Any suggestions?

Trajan Pro is used on a lot of official covers; standard Arial is good, too. Ultimately though, its about the overall style you want, and your own preferences.

True that. Arial does seem to fit across all types of covers, so I'm good using that!

I've overtime realized that the covers that I have been printing with 3118 x 1748 x 143 is a tad too small and I have been experimenting to find a more suitable size. I now have a closer size to fit my bluray cases. 3173 x 1760 x 127. The height of 1760 is perfect the width is a hit or slight miss, mind you this is for cases that hold up to 3 discs. So with the adjustments I've created another movie on my wishlist.

Not often enough do the great custom artists of this forum get to see their creative reworkings of the awesome posters that usually get the shaft with releases these days shown again from a collector's point of view. So to take this moment to single out Mr. Robert George I am doing. So I hope you don't mind Sir, but these are for the Eastwood set I just picked up.

Very nice. Glad you are pleased with my covers. Those represent a lot of work and the best compliment I get is that someone else likes a cover enough to use it.

Don't use Labels! Purchase yourself a printer with the ability to print directly onto printable discs.

Wouldn't that mean that your burning bootlegs then?

I know people make custom labels but I have heard that if you put them on a disc they can come loose inside your player and cause the disc to get stuck
