The Ducks did not lose this weekend.

I think the committee has to take that into account.

...the fight is still there.

Don't forget the ACC Championship. Whoever wins that is pretty much guaranteed a spot in the top 4. Looks like it will be the biggest ACC Championship game we've seen.

It's crazy I'm reading a lot of reports that Texas A&M will go hard after Jimbo. I really don't know how to feel about it, I guess it will depend who we got to replace him if he left.

I don't know why Jimbo would leave Florida State for A&M. He's already one of the highest-paid coaches in the country and has shown he can win a title at Florida State. A&M will never have the fan support Texas has and it'd be much tougher to win a title having to play Alabama, Auburn, and LSU every year. There's also the family considerations, as he's divorced and his son has health issues so it's unlikely he'd want to move away from his family.

I think it is good that Clemson has lost a game. I want them going up against Alabama and Miami as underdogs.

Mercer is gonna knock Alabama out of the playoffs this weekend!

But seriously, if you lose to a FCS school, you're out of the playoffs, right?

Yes. 85 vs 63 scholarships alone should disqualify any FBS school who loses to an FCS school.

Since 1978 when Div I was split into Div I-A and I-AA (now FBS and FCS), there are only three schools in FBS/I-A who have never played an FCS/I-AA school... USC, ucla, and Notre Dame. That's it.

Not if you’re an SEC school.

That was a loaded top-5 too. The 1995 Nebraska team was IMO the 2nd best team I've ever seen after the 2001 Canes. The Gators team in 1995 was as good as any team they've every had. They just couldn't hang with Nebraska. Tennessee had Peyton Manning. FSU and Colorado were really good too.

He should be criminally charged.

I just looked up Latrelle Lee, the player involved. He was expelled from school. He was a senior going for a degree in... criminal justice. lol

hopefully he'll get first-hand knowledge of how that system works.

Man, Big 8.

Highest Big 10 team in 1995 was, you guessed it... Ohio State at 6th.

22 years before that in 1973:
1. Notre Dame
2. Ohio State
3. Oklahoma
4. Alabama
5. Penn State

College football is cyclical.

College football is incredibly dependent on who the head coach is. You could put a guy like Saban or Meyer in charge of any big name school and they'd probably be a consistent playoff contender.

The only real powerhouse program from the 70's-90's I can't see making a comeback is Nebraska. That program went on a prolonged downward spiral the minute Osbourne retired. Now they've lost 4+ games every season since 2004. I'm not even sure a Scott Frost type could save that program.

Never should have fired Solich back in the early 00’s. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence.
