Don't forget the ACC Championship. Whoever wins that is pretty much guaranteed a spot in the top 4. Looks like it will be the biggest ACC Championship game we've seen.

I don't know why Jimbo would leave Florida State for A&M. He's already one of the highest-paid coaches in the country and has shown he can win a title at Florida State. A&M will never have the fan support Texas has and it'd be much tougher to win a title having to play Alabama, Auburn, and LSU every year. There's also the family considerations, as he's divorced and his son has health issues so it's unlikely he'd want to move away from his family.

Since 1978 when Div I was split into Div I-A and I-AA (now FBS and FCS), there are only three schools in FBS/I-A who have never played an FCS/I-AA school... USC, ucla, and Notre Dame. That's it. |

That was a loaded top-5 too. The 1995 Nebraska team was IMO the 2nd best team I've ever seen after the 2001 Canes. The Gators team in 1995 was as good as any team they've every had. They just couldn't hang with Nebraska. Tennessee had Peyton Manning. FSU and Colorado were really good too.

I just looked up Latrelle Lee, the player involved. He was expelled from school. He was a senior going for a degree in... criminal justice. lol |

hopefully he'll get first-hand knowledge of how that system works.

The only real powerhouse program from the 70's-90's I can't see making a comeback is Nebraska. That program went on a prolonged downward spiral the minute Osbourne retired. Now they've lost 4+ games every season since 2004. I'm not even sure a Scott Frost type could save that program. |
