There's no need to do that. I would trust you if you don't post any of my stuff anywhere else. I say just hold back for a bit until the matter is resolved. Don't give up hope. This is just something that is very unacceptable and needs to be dealt with. For the time being, if you like a cover simply pm your e-mail address to the user/artist that created it and I'm sure they'll help you out.

I did notice that you have been a member of customcovers.org, and you read the thread (thank you BTW!!) It may help to get as many posts as I can in that thread in order to get some attention, might help the issue get resolved more promptly. Sorta like a petition.

Per your request for suggestions: I have been a member at euphoricfx.org for 6 months now and all the guys over there are very trustful. I think it's $6 every 6 months through paypal (very reasonable) unless you have a few covers you've created you can apply for free membership (resident artist)

Good job ag, I will make my way to your post on that site to protect mine too.

As for where I go ... My covers are at DVD Cover Fuzion. It is a great site with awesome artists and respectable moderators/administrators. The cost is pretty well the same as ag's site, unless of course you can prove that you will contribute good quality work.

this all brings a tear to me eye... exactly what I was hoping to prevent. But sadly sounds like he's been at work stealing for a long time, but yet very recently.

I'm so torn as what to do here. I post at other membership sites, but have been honored to post here for those that appreciate all our work as gift to people who are here to put them to good use. I agree with aggienader08 & bpmford and will hold off posting here for a bit. I will post previews as well, and if you PM me, most likely if I've seen you active in these forums, I'll send you the links, but if you just signed up and only have 1 or 2 posts... you'll probably have to wait til this is all fixed or the little thief imre is melted down into a cover for all the world to steal! lol

well glad i will still get to see all your guys fine work as this is the only site I rly look at for blu ray and obviously covers and I have in use a number of dv8s covers as well as bpm's and not to make u feel bad i still like your art work aggie i just don't have any of the movies you make them for hahahaha anyway thanks again to you guys and can't wait to see what you do next. O and a quick thanks to Illest Villian for all the templates as I try hard to do my own and FAIL big time i appreciate the time that u took to make them.

Sorry you guys had to be hit with the dark side of the game. But custom covers and 9 covers have been at that dirty game a very long time, and don't expect them to change their modus operandi, no matter how much you plead. I do agree that your best option is to take personal measures to guard all the hard work you've done.

This has been going on for years it's the bad side of the hobbie.
Certain users feel they need the credits and decide to steal from
other sites to get as many credits as possible.

But on customcovers at least he credits the artist nothing like that can be said the same of 9covers, you post in a topic there and state the covers is yours and you get immediately terminated and ip banned from the site.

And i did leave a message on customcovers yesterday in the blu ray section for my Transporter Collection that got posted.

But the uploaders comment disgusted me even more about the cover which is stated below.

Well, this sucks for lurkers like me...except for the occasional "WOW dv8pdx!" I never post as I'm no artist and have no good ideas for these covers to contribute. So you guys have no reason to know me or send me cool covers

This pains me the most as your covers are by far and wide the BEST out there....with some of BPM's customs not too far behind (he's learning - haha). (no disrespect BPM as I do like several of your customs, just not quite as much as ALL of dv8's).

Maybe I have enough posts to count as a "good guy"...we'll see.

I agree with Irrob that this has been going on for years and years and sadly will always continue to do so. I am a member of 8 paying sites and have been for more than five years on most and have seen this all too often. The only REAL way to guard your work is to create for yourself and never show off or release it to the public. Even on a pay site that you are a contributing member you will have your work lifted and posted elswhere. Most of the scumbags that steal work and post on other sites do not use the same " name" so it's very hard to catch them. Several sites "ask" that you credit the artist when uploading but "if you do not know who the artist is" they ask you to put Unknown. In short, several sites encourge posting others artwork just using the unknown scape clause.....rule of thumb dont post others work!

But in regards to this board I am just wondering where this thread will go now? Will we be able to request from you wonderful artists personally? Or will folks have to go join a site? Not a prob for me personally but for others it might be. It's just too bad that the ones hurt by this are the artists and the honest folks. It does not hurt the offenders one bit and I am sure they are laughing at this right now.

frankly I don't want to think about what the offender is doing right now. I'm so disgusted. I got a reply from one of the admins. at customcovers.org saying he's going to sort this thing out, so that's a good thing.

I think that at least dv8 and bpm both agree that sitting tight right now until this gets sorted out is prolly the best, after that we'll see where it goes about posting work on here. I think what I'll do is post previews and just ask that if you really want the cover then you could send me a pm with your e-mail and I'll get a full res copy to you.

Your apology is accepted by me, but I'm not sure about the other several artists that you have offended. My suggestion would be that you do 3 things:

1. go to the custom cover art thread on this site and publicly apologize to all the artists in that thread.
2. remove the covers you posted on all cover sites you have uploaded them to.
3. go to the customcover.org thread **ATTN MODS*** in the help section and request that all credits you have accumulated (collected) be taken off your account and redistributed to the artist/users of that site from which you stole work.

Doing those things are the only thing that can resolve this issue. A simple apology will not be an easy out for you.

It's a shame to see some of these amazing works of art being passed off without credit given to the artist, these are very worthy of being original artworks and many are better than the originals by the actual studios.

Wow! This is ridiculous! Looks like I'll have to join a pay site now! I do understand where you guys are coming from! I'd hate to see my artwork anywhere else as well! I can't create these custom covers, but I am an artist (painter/illustrator/sketcher), so I see where you're coming from!
