Yeah, I've watched Destroyer about 3-4 times and it sounds fine.

Thanks Guys, I could have sworn I read something a long while ago on the pitch being off or something like that, but with all the work I have been doing on Barbarian I have never had the time to actually check, I will probably still rip the LD PCM though just to have that option of the original audio mono in lossless.

Thanks agian

@Vidjunkie

Thanks for your help.

The new DTS Track for the European extended version is a big improvement IMHO.

Please check your PM.

Thankfully Fox fixed the audio for Barbarian for the U.K. release, it also has the original mono mix but only in Dolby Digital, it still sounds good though. The new 5.1 track isn't as beefy sounding as the old mix but all the errors were corrected thankfully.

They also fixed a colour timing error during the scene where Conan is getting chased by wolves. If you've got the old disc you can sent it to Fox free of charge and they'll replace it with the new one, that's what I did.

The only problem is that the loophole to watch the uncut version has been removed, but I'll take fixed audio over a few seconds of horses tripping any day of the week. It would be nice though if the transfer was both uncut and had the fixed audio.

Yea it is nice they fixed the day\night scene but the "fixed" audio sounds terrible, tinny and just terrible, and the cuts for the horse tripping is bad as well, I had mine replaced in hopes that they would fix it right and damn was I hugely disappointed to say the least, that is why I did it myself, and I can safely say that my version whips up all over their official half-assed fix lol, but at least they included a lossy mono track, I am currently working on a lossless PCM mono track, but this will not be ready for another week or two.

Also going to do a lossless PCM track for Destroyer.

Yeah I noticed there's virtually no bass on the new 5.1 mix, the sound engineers fixed the errors but screwed up the EQ lol.

I watch it with the mono mix anyway, it's more nostalgic that way and it sounds pretty good for a lossy track. The EQ is much better on it than the 5.1 track, it has balls lol.

I said this before but I could have sworn that the new UK release gets a bit more bassy later on in the film - its certainly very tinny to start with though.

well if you want to give my new track a try just let me know, I really LOVE the DTS-HD MA 5.1 track on the BD(except for the errors for which I have fixed) it sounds really, really good and is powerful, I now because of fixing it prefer this to the mono any day, and I have lossless mono.

That is good to you it seems to get better, but I do not like any of it at all, and the editing for the horse falls, no way a definite pas for me, but that is me.

I'd love to give it a try it but I don't have a BD-Rom drive unfortunately.

I can only recommend muxing Vidjunkie remastered track into the uncut international BluRay of "Conan The Barbarian".

The track sounds much better this way.
Thanks again.

If you don't have Vidjunkie's new version of the DTS-HD MA audio yet, be sure to contact him about it. It sounds tremendous. The old version was excellent, but this one is far better. It blows the old one away.

So, I have been following this discussion since the blu released. I have waited for a fix before buying the blu. I don't know how to use your new mix but don't have a bd drive in my computer so I'm pretty sure this I cannot use it. Also, I probably cannot use the UK version because I have a basic Sony USA player.

So I want to summarize so I am clear on my options. It seems Universal corrected the mono mix but not the 5.1? and the video has been fixed? So I can go to as USA BB, buy a disk and watch it in mono and get Basil's score. Is that accurate? If I am reading this accurately everything will be well as long as I watch it in mono.

I got lost. Thank you in advance.

NO, the USA Universal release is not fixed, and it is missing a scene, so no my track will not work for it.

I watched Barbarian last night and it has the look of an older transfer, but, all in all, it's okay (especially for Universal). Some scenes take on a filmic look, while others look processed (such as the opening battle sequence) particularly with some edge enhancement. It really varies on the scenes throughout the movie and lacks consistency. It's as if they decided to (over) sharpen certain scenes. Grain for the most part though looks pretty healthy and even natural in many scenes of the movie.

I have not watched Destroyer, but looking at the screencaps it seems quite evident this was a newer transfer (or at very least handled better) and looks superior. I'll have to pick it up sometime.

Conan the Destroyer looks amazing, as if it was filmed yesterday.

Does the Blu-Ray of Barbarian have print damage? Because the HDTV master does.
