The sad thing is, even if this movie fails and Fox wants nothing to do with Fantastic Four anymore after that, their third failed attempt... it would probably be at least seven years before we get to see the Fantastic Four again.

People have said "if it fails, the rights will go to Disney/Marvel," but this is Fox. If it fails, I highly doubt they'd hand the rights back to Disney a few months later and say, "here you go, enjoy." If I'm not mistaken, they have seven years to make another one before the rights revert. Fox would probably hold onto the rights for those seven years. At the end of the seven years, they'll either go forward with a new one, or that's when they'll let the rights lapse.

They absolutely would not want to hand Disney/Marvel another franchise that could potentially be another billion dollar earner in the hands of Marvel Studios. How bad would it look if Fox makes this movie that fails, and then Disney turns it into gold two or three years later?

Even if it fails, I don't see Fox handing the rights over. They'll hold onto them, even if they intend to let the rights lapse in 2022.

It's a shame, because the MCU could work wonders with the FF, Doom, Galactus, Silver Surfer, Uatu, and more. Especially since Marvel has started expanding and focusing on the cosmic side of things in recent years.

The only FF I ever read is "Fantastic Faour: 1-2-3-4"

And I only read that because Morrison wrote it. About half-way through I thought to myself, "This is one of Grant's lesser works," so I just quit. Is it any good?

Nice way to destroy the best comic book villain of all time. So disrespectful.

Tbh, I have a kind of subscription which allows me to see 'trash' and not feel bad. I pay the same monthly fee regardless, so I just watch as much as I can.

That said, Disney would likely do something or other with FF or the characters contained in the rights if not the FF themselves but I suppose the truth is, Marvel right now is on a hot streak, whereas Fox is doing well with X men but somehow are completely and utterly destroying another comic book franchise that done well could have been a goldmine.

After all, GoTG is the third highest grossing movie they've released and its an entirely new property with only the smallest hint of tie ins. So it shows how much audiences are buying into Marvel and/or Comic Book movies.

I think a lot of you are just overreacting. At least wait for a trailer or something close to that before forming any kind of opinion. All involved are in fact good actors.

It's not about how good it is as a film, it'll probably be decent, but it's about being true to the source material.

This does not sound like a Fantastic 4 film, not even Chronicle 2, but a remake of of the original Chronicle.

Still, seems like Fox would have him out doing the rounds about now, same as the others.

exactly, but as I have stated earlier I can't pass final judgement until I see the finished product.

But I felt like 1-2-3-4 was a low point. He didn't really feel like he was into it. His X-Men, though? God. I'm sure you'll love this:

Honestly, though, no one has moved me quite like Grant has. His run on "Animal Man" is one of the greatest pieces of literature of the last 100 years. There. I said it. It's brilliant and thought-provoking. The man is a genius.

Yeah, I'm a fan.

It's definately not overreacting. A lot of people are very passionate about the source material and they are straying so far away from it with this movie.

It's not to say that this might not be a good movie but it will only be a fantastic four movie by name alone.

Also they may be good actors but it doesn't mean that they fit the characters. They did very well with the casting for the first 2 movies in my opinion. The current casting has been a complete let down thus far. And everything we know about the movie has been too.

To me, the best film adaptations are those which remain as faithful as possible to the source. I can't even separate the two, when I've grown up as a fan of the books. This film has nothing in common with Stan's creations, except for the title, character names, and their powers. That accounts for 10% of the property, at most.

I'll judge after I see this movie. However based on what I've read so far from the 2 of the cast members, it doesn't sound very promising.

Fantastic Four - Toby Kebbell Talks Doctor Doom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFhh7...ature=youtu.be

It looks like Kebbell is distancing himself from all blame about Doom's awful characterization. I wonder if going in he thought it was going to be faithful and was shocked to see the changes.

All this stuff coming out about this Fantastic Four movie just pains me. The FF was one of the few Marvel comics along with the X-Men and Spider-Man that I read and I'd love to see a really good version of the comics on film. Sadly it looks like I'll have to wait even longer for one.

It was nice to see an actor saying that he's a fan of the comics and that he tried to emulate them as much as he could.
