Damn that stupid blood starved beast, damn that bastard to hell.
I've tried that fight so many times, watched every YouTube video and I still get cheap hitted to death. I am seriously wondering if I have the patience to play this anymore. I get that it's supposed to be tough, but I am beyond sick of cheap tactics, sick of the camera that can do more harm than good, sick of the finicky lock on, and beyond sick of the parry system not working so often. AND GODDAMMIT AM I ****ING TIRED OF BEING LOCKED ON AND MY ****ING MOLOTOV COCKTAILS MISS AT CLOSE RANGE. I dunno. Last edited by MerrickG; 04-30-2015 at 11:04 AM. |

Well while exploring the Cathedral Ward I managed to find the road that leads to the Hemwick Charnal Lane, it's just to the left of the grand entrance Cathedral. I opened the doors and realized it's the entrance for the boss battle with Vicar Amelia and went left and down the stairs. You'll get to a lamp eventually where you can travel to and fro from. The enemies are a little tough at first but like most of the game you eventually figure out their patterns. Plus their blood echo yields are pretty good so I manage to get about 20k in blood echoes each time. I'd get as far as the entrance to that area's boss and head back to the lantern after clearing most of the map. I need to up my skill thouigh, only at 10 I think. But Strength is at 30 and Vitality at 25.

The biggest challenge for me in this game is that I always seem to struggle to get the BIG hit on enemies. I have been relying on the shortened Saw Cleaver, because in this game when I strike fast I can usually always win the fight against most enemies, but I quite frankly suck at using big slow weapons. In many of the videos, I see people using the long axe and getting in big hard hits and every time I try to get those, the enemies always seem to hit me first. In the event that I am able to pull off a big hit, I am usually too far away from the enemy and I end up leaving myself vulnerable when I miss. Another thing that is frustrating about the BS Beast is that in that final third of the battle you he is moving around so ridiculously frantically, and its damn near crazy to switch back and forth between items, because using the blood blood cocktail does make the fight easier, but it becomes a huge risk because if you get hit in that you have to quickly switch to the antidote. I swear that the antidote animation for me is 10X slower than the one in videos. EVERY time I use the antidote I end up vulnerable to attack. Its just so hard to put enough distance between you and the beast to get healed and minimize the damage. |

Which bell beckons Alfred for help? I may need him in NG+3 Merrick, Locking onto enemies ain't always a good idea. With BSB, I know you have to otherwise you won't be able to dodge most attacks. It's better to unlock, move further away & then use antidote.. Then lock in again. Honestly I think you are attempting the boss too early if indeed your level stat is below 40. |

I just rang the beckoning bell. Last times I did it, when you come down those stairs, there's an illuminated messenger note. Whenever I ring bell there he shows up. There's YouTube video of summoning him for Blood Starved Beast. Can't post it as I'm in movie theater waiting for Avengers.
I think i got kidnapped just before having to leave the house as I woke up in the Unseen Village. |

I can't believe I beat Vicar Amelia on my first try and did it solo. Spammed her with molotovs, got behind her and slashed away with my saw cleaver. But since I did, the enemies are now a little tougher, and some seem t spring out of a bloody fog. I should have gotten the Hemwick Witch first.

I found the Forbidden Forest so I'm scoping that out now. It's a pretty huge area. In it I found the underground area that leads to the clinic. If I've not sent anyone to the clinic would I expect anything there other than Iosefka? |

I'd suggest leaving her alone depending on where a certain NPC is. The Forrest is huge. I cleaned it up 1 time but not recommended & not worth it. |

You can do it much earlier, I think, but I didn't deal with Iosefka until right before the very end of the game. She still had the item I needed, so I didn't lose out on anything. (I wasn't sending people to her clinic, anyway)

My second playthrough I forgot to talk to her. My first encounter in that game was from within her clinic. Oops.
