I had a family friend who was obsessed with it. She was 16. Her laptops screen saver were the two dudes from durara... Doing things to each other. I can't ever watch that show. It was incredibly vulgar.

Viz actually tweeted me once saying that they'd look into acquiring rights to PGSM, but the original and Crystal are their prority right now.

I just hope that PGSM was shot on film, so that a legit HD master could be possible one day.

I would hope they would cast native English speakers for the dubbing of PGSM. We've tried casting the original actors to dub themselves (Mari Ijima in Macross, Miyuki Sawashiro in Di Gi Charat) and it just doesn't work. They may be great actresses in Japanese, but not so much in English.

(Besides, live action doesn't work as well dubbed anyway, as much as I respect the actors that do it)

Was Durarara vulgar? I can't remember as it has been a long time since I have watched it.

There's nothing in DuRaRaRa!! that's vulgar (closest I can think of is maybe
[Show spoiler]Celty's "live" dissection
but even that wasn't at all explicit), but fan art for anything can reach a guaranteed level of depravity.

Is the show all males that turn into female superheros or are they all girls?

The movies will be in their own set.

I read that too, but I was more referring to the original actors dubbing their own voices. If Viz releases this, it will probably be sub only (or maybe dubbed with American actors, but unlikely). It would have been awesome if they could get the original actors to do a dub, but like I said, it would probably cost them a bloody fortune so it's doubtful.

You probably missed this part:

The last few episodes of R on Hulu haven't looked too horrible, which is good, since this entire season so far as looked just as bad, if not worse than the ADV release.

I am going to try and buy this next month, though it is not looking good. I may have to wait till a later date to get this. Maybe I can get it as a birthday gift for myself in March.

Having the original actors dub themselves ignores the fact that live-action dubbing is a crime against humanity.

More seriously, it also overlooks the fact that even if they're familiar with the language--even if they're an accomplished actor--English is often a very difficult language for Japanese people to pronounce, let alone deliver a fully ranged performance in.

A lot of native English speakers also have problems pronouncing English

I've heard "intensive purposes" more times than I care to remember.

Still, English can be a difficult language for many Japanese to speak, let alone act in.

There is some similar precedence to your suggestion: Mari Iijima reprised her role as Minmay in ADV's 2006 dub of Macross. Despite her own fluency in English the results were...serviceable at best.

Now I know this has been said in this thread but I didn't wanna go by what someone said and then have it not be true. I just got confirmation today from right stuf and the pre order release according to them is 2/10. So based on that looks like we might not be getting season 1 part 2 blu ray early like some of us did with season 1 part 1. So this is official from right stuf until they decide to change and release the pre orders early.

The great Toshiro Mifune couldn't speak a lick of English, but he spoke his lines phonetically during American-produced films. Same with Topol (though origins being from Palestine rather than Japan), he also performed English phonetically. Both men with terrific performances.

You probably couldn't even tell whilst watching Fiddler on the Roof, that Topol couldn't speak English. Same with Mifune and films like The Challenge. (Though he spoke very little English in that film, so it was probably a bad example).

I get what you're saying though, English is hard.

On the reverse side, I had to speak a couple of sentences in Mandarin for a play I did a few years ago. One of the Chinese actors helped me with my pronunciation. It was challenging, but it was like any other memorization. I forget now what the words were, but I was told they translated into "do you know where my cabin is?" and "this ship is huge"

Conformation on what? Did you ask them if stock came in early? If they told you no then that means the warehouse hasn't gotten it in yet. They get stuff all the time so if they get it in this coming up Friday it will probably ship that following Monday. Or are you talking about the emails we all get just letting us know that you still have an order. Those are just a reminder and really don't mean anything. The only thing that matters is the email saying that your item has shipped.
And there is no changing anything? Again, if RS get it in early they usually ship it out when they can. The release date is still set for 2/10 so if they don't get them till the day of then you probably won't get the movie anyway till after that date.
I'm not sure why you keep asking as we all keep trying to let you know that if RS get them early they will ship it usually on the next shipping day. So if that happens to be before the 2/10 date then yeah will get them earlier then most other retailers. You really should stop over thinking this.
