If I had to complain about something, yes the Bohner thing was disappointing and a waste. ATJ would have been better and more meaningful in Wanda's journey to healing.

When we saw the cabin me and my roommate screamed Wolverine at the same time.... Nope just Wanda..

At least end with a Spidey trailer or a Dr strange tease ffs.

Quite liked the rest and I wonder where vision went in such a hurry.

And inevitably, of course the usual suspects parade through letting us know they hated the show, just as they knew they would from the beginning. Waiting for Greasytroll to rear it's head.
Don't you get it? All MCU projects are the same and any jokes are bad. Get ready for a real grown up movie next week on HBO Max!

I loved the entire show aside from the final two episodes.

[Show spoiler]Last week's was forty minutes of us watching events we already know about or had been extremely heavily insinuated, and this one was standard fighty fights with literally no apology toward those affected.

I didn't HATE the last two eps, but they just felt so deflating.

The Shield version of 'it' turned up in S3 of Runaways also.

Just another case of Feige being like "Marvel TV whatnow?"

My only criticism is that drone shot at the end (gliding to the house) was terrible.

Some seem to expect too many subplots with other characters when the story ARC involves the principals mostly. Probably a lot expected this to also to be matching earlier comic books but it didn't. When I watched the finale I had given up having my letting my opinion be based on what's things might be, to just watching how they close this current limited series show and does it follow typical MCU fashion with becoming a steeping stone to more possible stories. It did.

Wow, so many pages in thread already today. I had to wait to watch the episode with my wife and son tonight, so I guess I'm late to the party.

Anyway, just some thoughts until I can find time to go back and read through the thread...

I think it was a great episode, but I guess I'm disappointed in a few things I was expecting.

Some of my disappointments:

Fake Pietro is just some guy named Ralph Bohner, and not the Quicksilver from the FoX-Men universe.

No mention of the multiverse.

No mention of mutants or the witchbreed.

No cameos from anyone we all theorized or had hoped would show up --- No Mephisto, No Dr. Strange, No Magneto. Not even Nick Fury (although he did send a Skrull lackey to retrieve Monica Rambeau in the weak mid-credit scene).

Some things I loved:

The post-credit scene.

Wanda's final Scarlett Witch costume.

The Darkhold.

Both Visions.

I will say this about Paul Bettany's Vision. I never cared for him in the role. In my mind, he never acted or sounded how I always imagined The Vision was in the comics. Jarvis, yes, but Vision, no. Of course, I had to accept Bettany's Vision in the movies, but I never really cared that much for him. However, over the course of this series, as campy as it was, I've really grown to like and care about Bettany's Vision, especially in this final episode. I was actually in tears when he and Wanda were saying goodbye to each other.

Bettany is a great talent. My favorite role of his is still the doctor in Master and Commander, but he was terrific in this.

And honestly, I felt the Quicksilver reveal was a lot worse than the Mandarin reveal. The reason that pissed so many people off was that they didn't see it coming (much like his line in the film!). For fans of the character that was a gut punch, but for Quicksilver it felt a lot lazier and more like a gentle slap in the face.

I've spoken before about why I felt if they did this it would be dumb and I still feel the same now. The problem was that they already did another multiverse fake-out in Spiderman FFH. I didn't think they would be so lazy to just repeat the same thing done in literally the last MCU movie before this show. From my perspective that made this predictable and pretty pointless, and they stretched it out literally until the last episode! Was that really necessary? It didn't even make much sense in-universe (this guy was only recognizable as Quicksilver to fans).

Oh well though, I'm not too hung up on that. I've mentioned already there were other things that bothered me much more about the finale, but at this point I just have to move on and see what they'll do next. I was at least satisfied with Wanda's core story and I don't think the MCU could really lose me at this point unless they just started making Sony-sized blunders at every turn.
[Show spoiler]Haha Yup! Although, the final few shots of Wanda could’ve been stronger. It felt underwhelming in a “we ran out of budget” or something.

No, I agree that this thing with Quicksilver was a let down. I didn’t have a problem with the Mandarin thing for the most part. The reveal that he was fake was fine in episode 8. But then to bring Evan Peters back for more as the town character just kinda felt like a “stop hitting yourself” to the viewers who were wanted him to be from the Fox’s X-Men universe. It isn’t exactly the same as FFH since JK is getting to still play a new version of a real Jameson! But even this year, with the stuff that the multiverse was said to begin in WandaVision made people think FFH Jameson was somehow Raimi’s since the events take place after WV.

I love the new look for her.
The series was great
But to be honest...
[Show spoiler] this could have been done in a movie. Took 6 years since her character introduction into the MCU to become the SW.
She is sure in deep shit with the FBI and SWORD...
I don't think she can be considered an Avenger anymore .
I really hope that Marvel has no plans on making her the villain for DS2.

White Vision is out there..... He will never be Wanda's Vision...

Overall I liked the series.

I just didn't want it to be a predictable checklist of things that seemed obvious from episode 1.

But in the end, for all of it's twists and slow reveals...it was literally exactly what we all thought it was at face value and panned out in the blandest way possible.

[Show spoiler]I even felt like...maybe Wanda is evil now? She felt unjustifiably 'bad' by the end

The credit scene shows how powerful she is.

[Show spoiler]Her astral projection is doing work while she relaxes. Doctor Strange can't even do that.

Don't count on what DS can and cannot do until the next movie. Remember they tend to give us something new that the character didn't do in the last movie.

Interesting point on Vision. Kind of reminiscent of the Gamora but not really Gamora issue.

When seeing it for the second time today I cried more.
[Show spoiler]It was never going to be a happy ending.
[Show spoiler]I totally lost it when she was putting the boys to bed because we all knew what was going to happen next.
