Blind bought this earlier today, was the only Tarantino I hadn’t seen. Thought the film was fantastic and the 4k was great! Awesome pickup for $10!

Agreed on the bold and I have to admit sometimes I'm one of them. Not to show off to my friends but I get a kick out of something blowing me away. And stuff like Prometheus, The Mummy and Guardians 2 do that and so I want more of that. But I think where that is okay is not missing a purchase BASED on not getting what you want from one purchase in all of them. That's entitlement and also unrealistic standards.

I can't recall ever using something "not being better looking than I imagined" to say it's automatically caste out in my view. Or to want to sell it. Or say the studio ripped us off. Or not purchase it based on some harsh user impressions. Even for releases many people would say I should and sound like an apologist for; like Terminator 2 with which it's justified to be disappointed.

Yet I maintain my viewpoint is the most healthy one to always be happy with this format and what is mostly delivered most of the time. There is the WANT for things to be format home runs like Hulk (2003) every time but not a requirement that it is to get my $$$. You take each project on it's merit and don't discount important factors like source material (I'm looking at you Forest Gump UHD)

This second part of your post is how I feel 9 times out of 10 or even more. And I can never understand anyone who wants to go back once they see the extra depth, natural constrast boost while being less washed out and dull in even the more 'slight' upgrades, to which is a minor amount in my experience of 300+ titles. Each to their own, though.

Money and purchasing power is the thing some people cling to as the only form of it they have in life. That is my armchair analysis of why some people demand all of their no-no's never be present, and all of their expectations being met for their wallet to even open.

Having been dressed down by Geoff, I hate to admit, but I read his reviews before all purchases. His review plus the price being lowered to $10 made this a must buy replacement for my Blu-ray. I now have 2 Tarantino’s in 4K.
