It's hard to say for certain, as we see Finn and Han entering that place with all of the Flags. We don't know the significance of this place and its placement in the story, but if some of the main characters are heading there, I would assume this would be pretty important. Who knows?

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer was viewed more than 112 million times online in 24 hours, according to a post from Lucasfilm on StarWars.com.

Combined with the 16 million viewers that tuned in to watch the trailer on Monday Night Football, that's a total of 128 million views.

The advance ticket sales, which kicked off after the trailer debuted on Monday, broke numerous records, including the biggest-ever 24 hours for advance sales in numerous countries. In the U.K., more than 200,000 tickets were sold in the first day. Several ticket sales sites crashed under the high demand.

The spot for the J.J. Abrams-directed film aired during halftime of ESPN's MNF, following the release of the film's poster over the weekend.

This marks a new record for the most views of a trailer in 24 hours. Of course, Star Wars is breaking its own record, set by the second teaser it released this past April.

The first teaser, which premiered on Nov. 28, 2014, hit 55 million views in its first 24 hours and 110 million in its first 12 days. The second trailer, which debuted in April 2015 at Star Wars Celebration, got 88 million views in the first 24 hours and 145 million in the first week.

The film, which will hit theaters Dec. 18, stars Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong'o and Adam Driver alongside returning castmembers Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.

Adds the note from Lucasfilm on StarWars.com: "The Force. It’s calling to you. We can’t wait for you to let it in, again, this December."

It could be where Max Von Sydow's character resides. He is rumoured to be a collector of historical ancient artifacts etc. Could be he also collects ancient flags?

Thanks to the people who commented on my cut of the trailer, but I decided to go all out with a different idea. A complete shot for shot remake using original trilogy footage, split screen side to show the differences (or rather, similarities). Had a blast making this one, enjoy!

That's Maz Kanata's castle. It'll be another Cantina scene, another patron could lose an arm there.

That is what I was trying to say. And also with it being a week after release and so many sold for Lincoln Square, it shows how important the IMAX name is to some people and it is known as the go to. Too bad you would need to go to Boston or Philly for the 15/70.

In terms of experience and why I want big picture/big sound, is that I have an 80" screen/projector in my apartment (usually use headphones after 9PM). I saw The Lego Movie and Into the Woods at Kips Bay, and couldn't help but realize that having the projector spoiled me. Now I choose which movies I see in theaters more carefully and make sure they have that something extra (could be the full crowd all in one place...was fun during Kingsman, could be the Dolby Atmos mix, or seeing Interstellar in 15/70).

Sorry for being so off topic.

I think it will, when I was looking for trailer 3 the other morning, I skipped past it at first because I thought it couldn't possibly have had 11 million views in a matter of hours.

Well, it's officially 1999 again. Boxoffice.com predicts the film will topple Avatar's total and Jurassic World's opening. It's absurd. It won't happen.

I remind you that in 1999 TPM made top money anyway even with Jar Jar Binks.

Absurd? Pfffft. It's got a chance as long as it opens big and it's got the legs to keep going until the summer like Avatar did. Hell, if it happens then that means Disney can hold off from releasing the home video versions too, maybe even save them for the following holiday season where they'll earn bank all over again.

Maybe it's not absurd, but it still won't happen. Everyone was predicting $100 million opening weekend and $600+ million in 1999 too. Episode 1 broke pre-sale records then and people were hocking them on Ebay too. History repeats itself. It will make a shitload of money, but it's not going to top Avatar and probably not Jurassic World either. It won't break opening weekend records, aside from the one for December. Just like in 1999, many people will stay away for the first couple of weeks because I'm there's somebody already lined up for the movie and that tends to scare some people off who don't want to deal with the lines and crowds.

And everyone, don't flame me for this. I'm looking forward to the movie, with reservations, obviously. I'll be there opening night. I'm just trying to keep some sense of perspective and reality in with all of the ridiculous expectations, both for the film itself and the box office.

It can easily beat Jurassic World's opening and total B.O., but yeah, Avatar's not happening.

Even if it doesn't get that far it'll surpass JW for sure, yep.

It'll beat Jurassic World, because if it doesn't then the human race is doomed. Seriously though, it has to make more money than that average film, I'm unsure whether it will reach the number 2 or 1 spot though really, though Avatar had the advantage of being the one big movie of December, with 3D and IMAX sales, which Star Wars also has going for it. Then there's the fact that some people have been waiting 30 years for the first Star Wars -sequel- and they've kept Luke hidden. I know people who have 4 viewings already booked, but then again, that's the super nerd fan base, as for the general public, who knows. It'll settle into third spot no doubt though, it just has to.

Why? Never before as the yearly box office had two films gross more than $500 million, let alone two grossing more than $600 million.

Either way, it won't sell as many tickets as Episode 1.
