New CFP ranking are...

1. Clemson
2. Auburn
3. Oklahoma
4. Wisconsin
5. Alabama
6. Georgia
7. Miami
8. Ohio St.
9. Penn St.
10. USC

SEC and ACC championship game winners are sure to make it. Oklahoma and Wisconsin will if they win. I think Ohio St. not only has to beat Wisconsin but destroy them to edge out Alabama for a #4 spot. Though if Oklahoma gets upset and Ohio St. wins my guess is Alabama and Ohio St. both make it.

It's probably going to be close but I'd say Alabama should make it over Ohio St. if it comes down to those two. Alabama lost one game by 12 points. Ohio St. lost two games by 15 and 31 points. Alabama is still ranked #1 in FPI. Ohio St. probably needs to beat Wisconsin in a blowout and/or hope Oklahoma loses to TCU to get in.

Gundy just turned down Tennessee's offer of $7million a year. Time to call the pirate Mike Leach. You have to think a quality coach would jump at $7-8 million. If Leach turns it down though, you may have to bring Tee Martin home and give him the best staff in America.

I, personally, would love to keep Tee Martin on USC's staff -- just not as OC.

I actually think Tennessee is a higher quality program than Texas A&M, which Jimbo is apparently taken. UT is an extremely easy program to land 4 and 5 star recruits at and it's in the weaker Eastern division of the SEC. Gundy could probably turn Tennessee around. There must be some massive dysfunction beyond even the Schiano fiasco causing people like Gundy to avoid Rocky Top like the plague.

That massive dysfunction is named John Currie and Jimmy Haslam.... That people in charge of UT somehow think that having program outsiders be in charge is a better move than having someone like Phillip Fulmer or David Blackburn (Two guys that love Tennessee and would give everything to have the program succeed) in charge. I'm hearing Chad Morris is next in line now....

I think it's rather clear. If Ohio State loses, we're out. No chance. IF we beat Wisconsin, they win the B1G Championdship, and would be hard to ignore out of the Top 4.

Alabama might only have one loss but they wouldn't have played for the SEC title. Additionally, Ohio State would have victories over Penn State, Michigan State, and undefeated Wisconsin

But I do agree - we need another 59-0 victory over Wisconsin like a few years ago.

It will be very interesting if Ohio State wins. Like you said Ohio State has good wins but they've also got an awful blowout loss to a fairly mediocre Iowa team and 1 more loss than Alabama. I'd take Ohio State just because their 3 best wins would be better than any of Alabama's wins but no matter what it will be controversial.

Tennessee is reportedly hiring Purdue coach Jeff Brohm as their new coach. Brohm was 6-6 in his first (and it appears only) season at Purdue.

Purdue was 3-9 the previous year. They haven't been bowl eligible since 2012. He made them better. Of the six losses this year only one was by more than 10 points. One by one point, One was by two points, One by seven points, and One by eight points. Not bad in a major rebuilding year. I like the guy. He seems like Bobby Petrino, but without the baggage. He just needs a good DC to play in the SEC. Coaching talent is way down in the SEC due to Saban's dominance, but the SEC still gets the majority of the best high school players.

It's a shame to see him leave Purdue.

Apparently the Brohm to Tennessee reports were premature:

Quote:
Bruce Feldman‏ @BruceFeldmanCFB
SOURCE: Nothing is imminent regarding a #Tennessee coaching hire. Reports that a deal is almost done w/ #Purdue coach Jeff Brohm are not accurate.
Quote:
Chris Low‏ @ClowESPN
Told by both sides that no deal is in place between Tennessee and Purdue's Jeff Brohm and not close to being done at this point, although there have been discussions.

Tennessee football is burning down right now due to the incompetence of John Currie and Beverly Davenport. They need to fire both of them now.

Tennessee should just hire Kiffin for the money that they offered Gundy. Kiffin will jump at that job.

I've read rumors that Currie could leave to take the open Washington State AD job. The president of Washington State was the president at Kansas State when Currie was their AD and I've read they've got a good relationship. The past couple days might have been bad enough for Currie though that the Washington State president can't hire him even if he wants to.

They need to go talk to Leach, Kiffin, or Martin before Doeren....
