You're getting some constructive criticism thus far. I personally, wouldn't abandon HAL's eye. That just looks too cool on a shelf. Maybe make the other logos just slightly smaller than they currently are. Otherwise, this a very good rendition.

Thanks for that! I like the changes you've made to the placement. I was feeling it was a bit unbalanced myself. I will incorporate them into my final cover.

I agree. I think HAL's eye is the exciting point (If you saw that in a store you'd be instantly drawn to it) and the MGM logo is the one that can be moved. I've decided to put the MGM logo on the back and leave the eye.

Default The Rock

Okay, so mowing the lawn was the only thing on the "honey-do" list this morning and I just can't sit in front of weekend television (except for that b!tchin' horse race). The result is more covers.

For a piece of art I found for a disc that has been out since the early days of Blu-ray, I'll point out two things. 1) I don't usually do "big head" covers, and 2) "usually" does not mean never ...

An additional note on this second version. I personally prefer the first version and will use it. But, I found the second title treatment and really wanted to use it. It didn't go with the image as used on the first cover, but I just wanted it to exist somewhere. I hope someone likes it well enough to use it.

Lastly, I have been using EuphoricFX.org for my covers since I got good enough to want to share them. Every cover and label I've made that I consider good enough to put out in public is available there. I know many of the folks here don't use EuphoricFX to download covers for one reason or another, but I would encourage you to at least register. I'm providing a link below to my gallery there, but you have to be registered (and logged in) to view it. Doesn't cost anything to register, and I'd really like to be able to share my work all assembled in on place.

http://www.euphoricfx.org/forums/mem...profile&u=2219

(Scroll down the page for a link to all my uploads)

If anyone does find something they like at EuphoricFX but still don't want to pay the few bucks for a subscription to download, PM me any requests and I'll provide download links.

Really lastly, I want to take this spot to thank everyone that has offered compliments on my covers, both here and on EuphoricFX. I often get "thanks" messages from the site but don't reply because it would look like I was "bumping" my own covers. Trust me, if you sent me a thanks on EuphoricFX, I saw it, read it, and appreciated it.

As of this moment, though, I'm kinda burned for the day. Gonna go watch something I made a cover for .

Here is the final version. It's fixed all the issues I feel it had before based on what you guys said. Things should be spaced in a more visually pleasing way I believe.

Just as a heads-up, the front here uses art I created for a custom cover five years ago. People tend to cut out my front covers and upload them to poster sites without attribution.

You're welcome to use it, but I know you're a big proponent of original theatrical keyart (and you seem like the kind of guy who would credit another custom designer in your post if you knowingly used part of his design), so I just wanted to give you that heads-up.

Indeed, even someone in Germany is taking credit...

You're right, and I intentionally ignored the original art for this cover because I felt it was the same tired "big head" shot that has been used on every format since the movie was released. But, your post prompted me to go back and give the original one-sheet another look. When you take away Disney's cheesy banners and overlays, the original poster is actually pretty good, even for a big-head shot. Here is one for the purists...

While we're here, why stop now. I thought about this one yesterday but discarded the idea because I already had two versions cooking. What the hell, here is a knock-off of the Danish DVD cover...

Does anyone here know the dimensions in pixels for cases that come from overseas?

Default Alien vs. Predator

I don't know if anyone else will be able to use this, but I'm posting anyway because the front art looks so much better than the studio cover.

This cover has specs for a two-disc case to include the US release and the EU release which has considerably better video specs.
