Well I've taken over 2 months off but had put in 744 hours. Not LizardSlayer totals but still up there. Don't have a Fatebringer, Corrective Measure or Black Hammer.

I didn't miss the grind but wouldn't mind jumping in on any VoG raids if anyone is looking for people. Granted I'd be a lowly 32 with no fancy rocket launcher.

Bungie weekly update part 1 today, another tomorrow.

Quote:
Don’t take it from me. Here are some words from Luke Smith:

I am Luke Smith, Creative Director on Destiny: The Taken King.

Many, many years ago, I wrote to you each week in this spot. We talked about Battle Rifles, we talked about stuff we weren't going to talk about, and at some point I did a horrible hand-drawing of an upcoming map and teased you with it in the Weekly Update.

Anyone who knows me knows I can be sarcastic, anyone who remembers podcasts I've done knows that I can be pretty blunt, and anyone who’s watched me in a ViDoc knows I'm pretty unpolished.

However, most of you don't know me.

Reading my interview with Eurogamer and imagining it came from some random developer of a game I love - that random developer looks like an Asshat.

But that Asshat was me - and those words rightfully anger you.

I'm sorry.

My words made it sound as if Bungie doesn't care about their most loyal fans.

We do care. We are listening. And we will make it right.

Here's what we're doing about the Collector's Edition of Destiny: The Taken King...

Looks like they're dropping the Collector's Edition price. They also have VIP rewards for Year 1 players.

Maybe I read it wrong, looked like to me all they offered was the emotes, shaders and class items for 20.00.

Edit- not saying in anyway that I felt the need to be apologized to or anything. I decided before the big fiasco that I probably wasn't picking it up anyway.

I am really confused.

If I purchase the Digital Collector's Edition of The Taken King for $79.99, which includes three class specific emotes, three armor shaders, and three exotic class items, will I also get the V.I.P. benefits from the $39.99 Digital Download, which includes a sparrow, the armor shader, and a year one emblem?

What a shitstorm bungie have created over this physical collector's edition crap.

So now if you don't want to pay for the physical collector's edition to get the bonus stuff like emotes etc then you can now buy them separately for $20

Which means you can pay $40 for the taken king dlc on the store to get those rewards then $20 for the other stuff that you would have got with the physical collector's edition.

So you pay $60 in total for less stuff. You might as well get the physical version right?

The way I read it, yes, you will. Also, do not pre-order anything right now, everything is in a state of flux. Plant Destiny has a good breakdown.

As the first part of the bungie weekly update, I'll wait and see what is said tonight. I believe the "more/better" vip stuff will be outlined in it.

I was just reading about this and it sounds like Bungie are aware about how existing players feel about this collectors set and having to repurchase the game and DLC to get it!!!

You should be ok to be able to pick up this set of stuff at a reduced price pretty soon.

I went to Gamestop and just ordered the physical collectors edition. $20 for some cool junk to set on my bookcase.

Why not.

Which is exactly what they want. But remember, they said it's just about sold out everywhere though.

This comment at Eurogamer sums it up pretty well.

Sorry for trying to rip people off, we will now rip people off a different way but make it look like we are giving a better deal to our fans.
$20 was the cost of the two very thin DLC packs individually. Now $20 gets you shaders, emblems, armor and emotes? A texture pack for $20. Let that sink in.

They prey on the people that feel they need everything they drip feed to them and it's pretty ugly.
