Yeah, that’s the one. Afterlife is a much better Ricci starring horror film. Worth a rental (not Vudu)

They also offer The Devil Inside tonight, but it is rated even worse. Has a demonically possessed looking nun on the cover as if there was any other kind.

Could never get into those films. I actually prefer the old stuff by far.

Values is a masterpiece. It even made me appreciate the first one more.

But yeah, the TV series was awesome too.

I think I am going to watch Cursed via Vudu. Getting a $2 credit to spend in the Lusitania's gift shop amuses. Doing so is very naughty-cal

of me.

That was bad.... I'll show myself out now.

Edit: that movie was a borefest; sure glad I streamed it for free and did not waste my money on it. Not sure if the $2 credit makes up for the time wasted, though.

Pretty embarrassing to see two middle aged men cheering each other on with their pom poms as if VUDU closed.

Look who has come out of the woodwork. Don’t worry about it, it’s just a bit of fun in the appropriate thread.

It gives me no satisfaction at.........oh wait, yes it does!

Not surprised. Disney+ is a game changer.

Vudu was a pioneer in 4K streaming. Now they have fallen behind and no longer offer anything better than its competitors

Whether or not VUDU shuts down soon the mere fact that Wal-Mart is considering selling it shows that digital purchases don't have much of a future. If one of the largest and most popular digital video storefronts can't make a decent profit then their future can't be bright.

Even if they don't close down they will certainly be looking to cut costs. The best way to do that is to drop thousands of unpopular movies that aren't selling anymore and downgrade the bitrates on everything but the best sellers.

How many digital providers have to shut down before people realize it's a bad idea to be reliant on someone else to access your own collection?

I don't feel embarrassed at all; it's one of the benefits of being shameless.

I'm just having a little fun in this quiet little corner of the forums wishing no misfortune to anyone. I do not want to see anyone lose anything that they purchased regardless of how unwise I feel those purchases were.

But I will have some fun with this news and the reactions to it; if that puts a knot in your knickers, that's really just too bad. You've certainly had fun at the expense of those who prefer physical media in the past, so stop pretending to be oh so superior and above such frivolities. Hell, when you do post here you mostly just pop-in, take a random drive-by shot at someone, and then disappear again.

Crowded?

For EST, reckon iTunes and VUDU have the lion share of that particular market. Amazon's primary focus is on subscriptions and despite the massive number of Android users, I expect more of them torrent rather than buy from Google Play.

If Wal-Mart's bowing out, that doesn't say anything particularly good about the future of EST. Oh well, I still have my Blu-rays and DVDs. Majority of my digital copies are on Movies Anywhere, too. It's primarily digital copies of TV series that I'd lose but I still have the discs anyway.

That said, wonder if this is why the Disc+Digital option is missing for most of the titles purported to have it.

I tell you what. The next time one of your mad predictions in the past come true, how about you post a link to it Steedeel. Until then, how about your simmer down?

Are you kidding me? Anyone that has been a member for more than a year will have seen anyone of my many many posts stating EST is dead in the water or that it doesn’t have any legs!

You will have seen such posts as well. The growth just wasn’t there, not for a new format. I suggested that MA would be the equivalent of ITunes downloads, still there but the locker content just gathering dust while the Koolaid drinkers move onto subscription streaming. (Replace Spotify with Netflix and Disney+). I was saying this four years ago when digital growth was starting out. So, it wasn’t w obvious observation (before you say it was).

Now, will those guys come forward and say I was right? Of course they won’t, people hate to be proven wrong. The fact is, I was right. The lurkers will see that but like I said, silence. That’s human nature for you.

The fact you are asking for proof astonishes me, it really does. Unless you have joined Vilya and our attention challenged millennial friends in that department?
