Underrated sci-fi with some great 3-D. IMHO

(Wonder what happened to Joe D.? He’s been absent for a while.)

Just watched GOTG vol2 yesterday and the 3D both depth and pop outs were much better on my system than Edge of Tomorrow, which I would say is good not great, it is very enjoyable, and one of my favorites.

WATCHED

I'd forgotten how much fun this movie is. The murder scene is still one of the best uses of 3D ever.

Bought two titles that I normally wouldn't buy but did so because of the 3D:

Elf on the Shelf. I had seen this blu-ray sitting at Value Village sealed and figured the whole Elf on the Shelf phenomenon had passed. Finally took a look at it and was surprised to see it was also a 3D disc so took a chance.

Stanley's Game Seven. Again, the 3D was a deciding factor. When I looked it up online, I was surprised to learn this is actually a movie that is shown at the Hockey Hall of Fame which is pretty cool. Found this unopened/sealed at Value Village as well.

Stanley's Game Seven 3D has English audio per IMDb
Can you please post the UPC# on the back of the case?
Thanks

Watched Alita Battle Angel again. I liked the movie and the 3D better than the first watch. Maybe it had something to do with the 180 I watched in between.

watched Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit 2011 The 3D Experience last thursday. It's only 27min long and the visual is stunning but don't expect much. very few pop out, mostly all depth and it's more of a documentary than anything.

i'd say not worth it but quite funny to own/watch.

By very few, do you mean two?

Did a rewatch of Hugo. Previously only viewed on my LG TV and my Epson, I watched on the BenQ DLP and noticed many more pop-outs. Not the kind where people would go "wow" but a lot of stuff just outside of the screen that was large enough to cross a couple of borders (stuff I would normally discount as not being very effective) just popped a lot better with the DLP, and the larger screen size. I really love this movie, the 3D is great!

I just watched Ghostbusters reboot last night and even though I have seen this on my first 3D TV before in 3D when it first came out... it was so much better last night with my new projector system. I have a 150" scope screen so when it was breaking the barrier... it kind of suck that it would go beyond the screen but it was still watchable. What surprised me the most was the end credit... it was in 3D the entire time and very entertaining for the most part with content. I must have missed this part first time I watched it.

The 3D also includes the 4K dics too with this movie... loved it when Sony did this in the beginning and looks like you can get this set for pretty cheap still. If you haven't seen it or bought it... it's definitely worth it!

I picked up Kung Fu Panda 3D from Shoppers Drug Mart. I love browsing their dvd section. They tend to have a lot of 3D movies. I had everything else they had in 3D but was happy to find this one there as I only have the second movie.

They also had some cool steelbooks. One for zoolander and one for star trek. Lots of 3D films though. Start trek, amazing spiderman 2, Turbo, Transformers TLK, how to train your dragon, and more.

S. Spivet, but still good 3D nonetheless.

Glad that this film got a blu ray 3D release in Germany, i was worried that Paramount would dump Gemini Man out flat worldwide but it was not the case, glad Germany came through with a blu ray 3D release over there.
Also TS SPIVET was native 3D shot on film.
GEMINI MAN was shot on video.

I recently watched:

How to Train your Dragon 2

and

Assassin's Creed

Found both to be enjoyable with decent 3D.

I'm pretty sure most, if not all, modern generation natively-filmed 3D movies were shot digitally?
I'm in agreement that Gemini Man's 3D was nowhere near as impressive as the same stereographer's work on T.S. Spivet, one of the great 3D movies in my book.

The 3D in Spivet was certainly excellent, but I have to pipe up an say that the 3D in Gemini Man was really quite good at at many points.

Re watched The Martian. I’ve seen it 4 or 5 times in 4K and the 3D wins by knockout. Excellent depth a few pop outs. I love this movie so glad I double dipped. Received Predator and BFG today, one from the UK and one from Finland.

I just got 7 more 3D movies in (bringing me to 225 total 3D BDs) plus 3 more IMAX ~40min "scenery" discs (Tahiti, Arabia and Mummies). Imax Tahiti was awesome. Thunder in the House of Magic had crazy amounts of negative parallax (animated 3D). Sanctum had me practically holding my breath. Parasite was kind of disappointing (bad acting, bad story, but decent 3D and young, pretty Demi Moore).

I haven't watched the rest, yet (Conan The Barbarian remake, Need for Speed and two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movies).
