Thanks sk33tr. Totally agree, at my age I know by now no job is perfect and you aren’t always going to be happy, but life is also too short. I applied for a security job in an area we stayed at when we first got here. I’m not sure if I’ll make it through the “assessment” process and into an actual interview, but I’m trying to keep my options open at the moment.

my perfect job is retirement. but i can't afford to do that right now, lol.

but at least i'm happy in my current job. i just wish i could get one of the full time positions that's open. the department i'm currently in, i thought i was gonna be full time there. but the guy that i was supposed to take over for is having trouble selling his house. and he can't until it sells. so i've been looking into other departments. we have one open, now. it's an early shift, which is fine with me. going in early means getting off early.

^^Yeah, bills still need to be paid and food still need to be bought or I’d just stay home at this point Hopefully I can make it through this next week, which is going to be stressful. Since they expect my partner and I to set an entire cracker/cookie section this week. Luckily he got ahead on some of the sets this last week. Unfortunately he comes in later than me. Hopefully there’s overtime just in case we need it.

Just saw Endgame for a second time. Wow! Just wow!

As a second note, my local AMC Chain just got a Dolby Cinema theater! I watched Endgame and my God, that experience is like none other. Can't believe I'v never experienced Dolby Cinema until today. Mind blown...

I had 6 days off from work and honestly I'm still tired af and they went by too quick and the only thing I accomplished was spending money I didn't need to spend and seeing #Endgame opening night.

Yep, will post when they come in and I get them all set up. Unfortunately, it's been a quite a long process as they were out of stock and took a while to come back in.

I just purchased a new camcorder - only my second one since I got a full-sized VHS camcorder back in the mid-90's. I hadn't been keeping up with technology so, being out of the loop, wasn't necessarily looking forward to messing around with SD cards because I know next to nothing about them and how they work. Now I have to start from scratch and learn all this stuff. First order of business is finding out what type of SD card to buy

I read an article somewhere on how SD cards are the future of video capture but it already seems like old tech if I can't find the one that suits my needs.

I use a Sharp Hi-8 camcorder though unfortunately its mono. The closest I will ever get to an SD cards one is my Cannon Camera. Camcorders should be on video or at least on optical media not SD cards.

Does anyone know how to do the cool glasses emoji and the laughing one (without tears) emoji on Facebook? I'm sharing a video from YouTube on my timeline and it doesn't have the emoji menu.
For example, : and D gives you a smiley. : and ) would give you another smiley.

Never mind, I just posted it to my timeline without any emojis and then added them when I edited via Facebook

I wonder if I have enough in savings to take a year (or possibly two) off from work just to travel & see the world. Might not be the responsible thing to do but I've been working non-stop since I was eight years old, I could use a break.

now is as good of a time as any.

it's your money...it's your life. only you can decide what's good for you at any given time. if your life plans including doing some traveling..and you have the means and opportunity...i say go for it.

it's always a good idea to have as few regrets as possible. so do you wanna look back in 20 -30 years and say, "man, i really wish i would've traveled the world when i had the chance"?

who knows what tomorrow will bring; let alone next year or the next decade. so i say do what makes you happy.

I agree. If you have saved enough to take care of your responsibilities (did you say you have a daughter?), then I say go for it!! If you wait to do it when you retire, you'll have a whole different energy/activity level etc, and it won't be the same. Plus, there's no guarantee of tomorrow. Two of my coworkers passed away shortly after retiring... worked their whole life to save for a great retirement, and then never got to enjoy it. Where do you and your fiancee want to go first?

According to my Letterboxd account, I'm five films away from seeing my 666th film. Hmm....think I'll watch The Exorcist for the first time.

Lost internet within the final ten seconds of an eBay auction, right when I went to place my final bid. Feel absolutely gutted because of what the item was, how low it sold and how badly I wanted it.

^^ That SUCKS. That's happened to me, too. Worst feeling (at least in terms of first world problems). I'm sorry.

Might file for bankruptcy.

Everyone will always say the same things "Don't do that. It'll destroy your credit. You'll never get a house. Just keep chipping away at your debt little by little." but no. It seems so much easier to just file bankruptcy. At least Chapter 7. You get to keep all your stuff and your debt just goes away. It just hurts your credit for a little.

My one friend filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy about four years ago, and they say it stays on your credit and affects you for over seven years, but she was able to get a car loan, mortgage, and a new credit card within three years of filing. So she's already rebuilding her credit.

Seems smarter to do it now and get it out of the way in my 20s and learn my lesson than to keep carrying this debt into my 30s that I'm barely chipping away at.

Haven't decided for sure, but we'll see..

my sister had to do that thanks to her first husband ruining their credit when they were married. after they divorced, she filed for chapter 7. later, she was able to do what your friend did...buy a house, buy a car, obtain credit cards, etc.
thankfully that was over 2 decades ago so everything is fine, now.

filing bankruptcy might seem like a bad thing to do; but most only look at the short-term stuff and how it will affect them in the near future. but down the road, in the distant future, it may be the best thing for a lot of people. yes, it ruins your credit, but not forever. you can recover from it and basically start all over, again.

i considered it not too long ago, but decided on a different route. if i weren't working (even part-time), i probably would've done it.

I'm starting to calm down. Everything happens for a reason. I probably didn't need to spend the $100 that I was willing to drop, maybe that's why it happened last second. Ah well
