My first thought about UCF hiring Heupel was that I had only known of him being the QB who led Oklahoma to the 2000 national title. After looking up his coaching resume he sounds solid. He turned Missouri's offense from lousy into on eon the best in the nation as their OC.

Almost as important is Randy Shannon hired as DC. He stinks as a head coach but he is a good assistant and outstanding recruiter with south FL connections. The two hires should keep UCF stop the AAC in recruiting and Heupel should keep the UCF offense humming in 2018 with the bulk if the team returning.

It appears Tennessee is finally hiring a coach, as Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt has reportedly agreed to a six-year contract. Of course until there's an official announcement you can't be too certain as this is Tennessee.

Pruitt is a client of agent Jimmy Sexton. Sexton now represents 11 of the SEC's 14 coaches. The only SEC coaches that aren't Sexton clients are Ed Orgeron, Joe Moorhead, and Derek Mason.

Lane Kiffin signs a 10 year extension at Florida Atlantic. Anyone expect him to last that long there before he bolts?

He actually did a really hood job this season. FAU went 10-3 with a conference title in his first year.

It's a shame this wasn't brought up prior to bowl selections because it would have been interesting to see how the NCAA would have handled it. At this point if the NCAA addresses it at all they'll most likely just say it's too late for anything to change.

I like SEC football but god can their fans and sycophants be insufferable at times. Paul Finebaum was on my local sports talk show this week literally scoffing at the idea that the high and mighty Auburn team has to play "lowly" UCF. Never mind that Auburn lost 3 games and UCF is undefeated. Like he's personally offended that Auburn has to share the same field as UCF. He's been saying crap like this all week...

I hate how it seems nearly all of the P5 conferences and their media think ANY team in their conference is automatically better than any non-P5 school.
As a UH and AAC fan, I hope UCF wins.

With the defense I saw displayed against Memphis, I know they have a great offense but still, I don't think they have a chance. This might be similar to Hawaii vs UGA a few years back.
