yes, I mean live action series....shoot couldn't the writers come up with 10+ seasons of script?? it would be a ratings FEAST. not to mention that TV, not movies, are hot right now. Just look at GOT. Isn't it possible?

on the other hand, maybe its the anticipation that makes SW what it is?

I think the SFX budget would have to be INSANE, which is what insiders have leaked a few times.

I had a hard time getting into Clone Wars, but I thought Rebels was surprisingly good.

As far as live action TV shows, I am sure they will be coming, seeing what Disney and Marvel have done on that front. There are already rumors.

I thought there was talk of a live action show on HBO, a while back. Not sure what became of it, or if it was going to be tied to VII, the OT, the prequels, or all of the above?

In January 2013, ABC Studios president Paul Lee stated that the live-action Star Wars series was being reevaluated for production.[6]

In August 2013, Lee again visited the topic of a Star Wars live-action series, stating, "We've started conversations," he said. "I'd love to go there. I'm a particular fan of Lucasfilm. It's an amazing world."[22]

In March 2014, it was reported casting was underway for a Star Wars live-action mini series and TV specials.[8] Nothing definite was revealed about the subject of either, but it was speculated the specials may refer to Darth Vader projects which were the subject of a photograph leaked late 2013.[23]

Star Wars and HBO doesn't seem like a good fit to me. But then again, HBO now has Sesame Street, so who knows?

I'm sure we will get it. Disney bought LucasFilm for one reason: to make money. They know it is a cash cow that is ready to be milked.

I just worry that we will get too much, so that it will get to the point that Star Wars isn't special anymore. I think I would prefer just one movie every couple years. Rogue One looks promising, but I am VERY leery of the Han Solo movie. Just seems like a bad idea to me.

Fret not; Lord & Miller have a knack for taking ideas that sound terrible and making them into yearly top 10 films.

Anyone else reading Star Wars Aftermath in prep for this movie?

Not interested in Aftermath spoilers, just curious if any of you fine people are reading the new books to get ready for The Force Awakens.

I'm still down with it even if it turns out to be Jump Street 3, with Tatum as Han Solo and Hill as Jabba.

I do like the choice of directors. I'm just not big on the idea of anyone besides Harrison Ford playing Han Solo. It just won't be right. Plus, if not done right, doing a prequel based on one of the main characters has a chance to take something away from the movies we know and love.

I have no issue with the idea of a Boba Fett movie, as he really doesn't have a big part in the original movies. I'd even be okay with the Obi-Wan idea that has been thrown around, since you could still use the same actor (Ewan). But doing a Han Solo movie just doesn't sit right with me.

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong, and it will be great.

[Show spoiler]
I just finished the 4th book. Meh.

I won't spoil anything, but it should be obvious from the new SW trailers that the celebration at the end of ROTJ is a little too soon.

Overall the series was very disappointing for me. We got to see 3 months after the battle of Endor. There's 29-years and 9 months we didn't get to see any of. This was supposed to be the journey to the Force Awakens. 3 months isn't much of a journey when there's still a huge 29-year gap.
[Show spoiler]I also wasn't impressed with the Empire ripping-off Destro's Weather Dominator.

And the ending to this series with the Jedi trees... I hope that has some sort of payoff in SW 7 or
this was really kind of pointless outside of introducing us to Poe's parents.

Aftermath was indeed terrible. I do however love all of the Marvel comic book series. Chewbacca mini just started and Nov we get a C3P0 one shot explaining how he got that red arm.

This thing you're doing.

It's called "shaming."
