I'm using PAINT.NET to compose my custom covers.

I should have asked a while ago, but does anyone have proper pixel measurements for covers?

mainly the average case and the viva elite 25mm case (that holds 7)

I really like the custom cover of Friday the 13th that's been floating around but understand is not being distributed anymore but...what about a 10 disc case cover art like the book the set comes in with something g cool and descriptive on the back and the n@me on the spine. Maybe someone with skills could make that and sell it with a case.

I think it's somewhat like photoshop though I don't exactly know since I've never used photoshop. I'm kind of old so learning new software is definitely a process. I think I'm pretty good with paint.net now though. It took me awhile to transition to that from regular mspaint
I have used Gimp at work in the past (when my work computer did not have the Adobe suite) but its a very poor substitute for Photoshop and Illustrator. I have Adobe Creative Suite 6 on my home computer so it always was jarring to switch between Gimp on my work computer and Photoshop on my home computer.

Thankfully, I now have a job that requires Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, InCopy and Lightroom on my work computer so all the tools I use at work and home match.

I just bought this trilogy because it was real cheap. The only problem is that the cover is in a different language, so I made this cover to include all three even though I only like the first two. This was fully done in Paint.net.

That looks really nice overall.

The only thing that I would change is the text for the titles of the individual movies on the lower part of the front cover. The font is kind of standard, plain, and boring. It really doesn't feel like it's "part" of the cover. It looks like something randomly added in. Just some friendly advice, you may want to find a font that is more fitting with the look, feel, and theme of the cover.

I also thing the use of the slashes between the titles doesn't look good, especially since the 3rd movie ends up on the next line anyway. I think it would look better if you just put each title on it's own line, and removed the slashes entirely. There's plenty of room for them. If you find a better looking font, but keep it at roughly the same size, I think this would make a nice difference. Maybe if you find a font that is similar in style to the font of the word "TRILOGY" on the box, that would probably look better.

Please don't think I'm "crapping" on your cover. I don't mean it that way at all. It looks great overall, but that text is the one thing that just stands out to me. If you want to leave it as is, that is most certainly your prerogative.

As I said in an earlier post, I'm using a rather old version of Photoshop (Photoshop 7).

I'm sure the program has advanced considerably in the years since that came out. But isn't it true that you can't actually buy it anymore? Now it's an ongoing, monthly subscription or something? That's the biggest turn off for me in upgrading if true. It's something that I use sporadically... not regularly. I wouldn't want to keep paying for it when not using it, or go out of my way to sign up for it again during times that I want to use it (plus keep paying money).

Yes, it is based on a monthly subscription. In fact the last version in which you could buy the software was CS6 which I have on my home PC.

My work computer has Adobe CC and one of the things I really like about CC is that as Adobe updates the software you can load up the changes. I'm not sure it's something I would recommend for everyone but in my case my company is footing the bill.

For example, I'm perfectly happy with CS6 and don't feel the need to update to CC at home.

Custom cover for my HD Theatrical version re-edit of The Warriors. Thought I'd try something different and minimal.

Default Robin and the 7 Hoods

More classic stuff this weekend. I found some very cool art from a German poster for Robin and the 7 Hoods that I wanted for my BD case. It took some doing, but I'm satisfied with the outcome...

Ok, here's the dilemma... I just bought Catch Me If You Can and Fly Away Home from overseas. They were so much cheaper and they include English Subtitles. The problem is that their packaging is, I believe, from Spain and there for all in Spanish. I was wondering if any of you happen to do either of these covers in the past, preferably in English?
