Oh, so that is where I am meant to be hitting them?! Hard to get used to not aiming for the head. Especially when Fallen and Vex are all in the mix together.

Is the Wolf Captain that same one on Russia? Where you get a level four contract to take some guy out and he's guarded by some ?? enemy who kills you in one hit. Never did understand that.

But yeah, I'm having an absolute blast, wasn't having much fun with my friends Warlock but my character is great. Although Golden Gun is a bit rubbish.
Yeah, the wolf Captains spawn in certain places every 20 minutes or so. There are usually 4-6 waves of these guys (and supporting services, dregs, scorch Captains, etc) with the last wave containing the actual bounty target. Once you're leveled up more, you'll go after these guys with regularity.

Couldn’t get into a rhythm of any kind in the iron banner last night. played 7 matches, finished off 4 of the Iron Banner bounties and then 5 crucible bounties. Had a k:d ratio above 1 in only one match. wasn’t ever below .75…..more often than not I’m above 1…..just couldn’t get it going last night.

Ended up being about 200 points shy of level 2 after those 7 matches.

Hoping I can find an hour or 2 to jump on tonight and hopefully knock out 4-5 Iron Banner bounties again.

I did pull the Matador 64 as a reward……then after the next round I got Party Crasher +1. one of them came with the shot package perk……so I’ll be rocking that bad boy the rest of this Iron Banner.

So weird that it suggests level four when you should really be level 28.

Well, those guys are sort of an extra component, and not something that's required to complete the mission/patrols.

Look at the level for the mission / patrol as more a suggestion. When you're level 32 you'll ignore that anyway.

But with him killing me in one hit over and over, I have no way to progress with that mission. Why would the game not take that into account?

You have to avoid them. They're not always there - if you see "Wolf" as part of the name of any enemy then leave and return to that area later.

You can't engage everyone, you won't do damage to enemies 3 levels over than you. But there's always ways to go around people, even the "???" guys (unless they're the Hive hiding at the bottom of the Cosmodrome cliffs, eff those guys until you're level 16 or so)

The wolves are part of the queen's bounties from the House of Wolves. You'll have access to those in the reef once you hit level 20. Just avoid them for now.

I also just realized I didn't play last Friday and only put in an hour or so on Saturday. So I've really gone 6 days without it.

I'm at work itching like a crack fiend, ready to get this long weekend started. But then I realize I already made plans with the missus for Fri and Sat.

HELP. I might just go home at 2pm today.

Not sure if everyone knew this already or not (I didn't). Picked up my weekly reward package from Variks and it gave me Etheric Light.

I got two special synths, 10 spirit bloom and ten helium filaments. I'd say I got the better of our two packages.

I lost the addiction. I'm off for the long weekend starting today, and I'm sitting here with the wife watching Just Friends. Still early here in Cali, but normally I'd be grinding by now. Worse yet, I don't feel like playing, either.

God that battle against that Kell fella was tough on solo. Ended up just doing a circle around the room, waiting for my grenades and supers to replenish.

I got the same, though I'd have preferred the Etheric Light.

Okay the fight after that was harder like WAY harder, like hardest mission I've faced on this game so far. I think it took eight tries in the end. Might be cause I'm playing solo but holy crap.

It was actually, ironically enough, the Hobgoblin's that made it so hard. For "foot soldier" enemies they are overpowered as hell, impossibly long range, practically one hit kill damage and a bullet sponge shield. About six of those seven failures involved me clearing all the gates, defeating the Hydra and then getting shot in the back by a Hobgoblin I missed from the other side of the map I'd already moved on from.

The actual Gate Lord was fairly easy after defeating so many Hobgoblins.

You'll see that mission several more times as daily mission/bounties.

It gets much easier, I promise. All of this work to 20 is really training you for the post-20 game. You're basically establishing thongs that will become second nature (tendencies of different alien races, as well as within each group, critical hit points on the various enemies, good hiding places, etc), and it will help.

When you get to upper 20s/low 30s, you'll wonder how you had so much trouble. You'll be doing 2 strikes and 2 raids per character per week, and only rarely touch on the "missions" anymore.

Nightfall, Raiding.... That's where you'll become an expert. You'll miss out on some (Crota' End raid, the prison of elders, Trials of Osiris, if you like pvp) by not having any of the dlc, but you should enjoy it nonetheless.
