Unpopular opinion: I dislike both Sean Connery's Bond AND The Beatles.

Hearing from older people about how the Beatles completely changed the rock and roll music scene, and it sort of makes sense.

They made some good music, but I think it was mostly a cultural thing. You know, you had to be there.

Nah. The Beatles formed in 1960. Elvis already had them beat with Jailhouse Rock in 1957.

David Lynch:

“People don’t know how important the Beatles were to our lives. People who lived through it know, but young people don’t know. I lived through it, though, so meeting Paul and Ringo was beyond the beyond. On their first trip to America in 1964 they flew into New York City, then they went down to Washington, D.C., and put on their first American concert, and I was there … I was a senior in high school and I wasn’t planning on going, but at the last minute I wanted to go and I talked my dear brother out of his ticket and I went instead. I got to tell Ringo and Paul that I was there at their first American concert, and of course it didn’t mean anything to them. But for me it’s incredible.”

For some, this was a sea change, it seems.

The Beatles were very talented songwriters. They had great lyrics and musical composition. Are they my favorites? Some of their songs are, but honestly I'd rather listen to Fleetwood Mac, The Foo Fighters, or The 1975.

Elvis peaked in 1956.

Also, Plan 9 isn't the worst movie ever made.

I actually kinda like it, and not entirely in an ironic 'so-bad-it's-good' way. It's got a charm to it.

I prefer Motley Crue to The Beatles.

Yup. Plan 9 and Bride of the Monster are entertaining little films.

Favorite bands: The Beatles, Ramones, The Kinks, The Band, The Rolling Stones, Cream, Buffalo Springfield...

Sucks that I don't get Disney+. I'll miss Peter Jackson's Beatles doc. Hope it gets a physical release.

You could turn on Disney+ for just a month, binge the doc along with a lot of other content, then turn it off. That's worth $8 isn't it?

I thought of doing something like that. I really don't want to miss that doc.

Can't believe that in a couple of hours, it'll be the 29th anniversary of the best comic book film of all time.
