All mate. However, it’s gone quiet lately so this may not happen. Wonder what they will replace it with if they do cut it?

Thanks for that. I'd be interested in finding out the replacement song myself if they did decide to remove it. Hopefully it won't happen, as personally speaking, I don't really appreciate censors deciding what we can and cannot hear - despite Gary Glitter's history.

Cheers mate, I haven't actually seen this yet but I look forward to catching it on blu-ray when we finally get it. I've heard lots of positive reviews about it, and I imagine the 4K version will be stunning.

Waiting on 4K Blu-ray, too. Here's hoping we get the theatrical version on disc.

I was blown away by it. The film just flew over. Like you say, it will look stunning in 4K.

Totally agree - I'll lose interest if it turns out some censor has made alterations to it. However if it's unaltered, I'll have my money at the ready.

Edit: I'll re-phrase that. I'll still get the disc.....it's just that I'll be disappointed if it isn't in its original form.

Sorry, I don't wish to veer off-topic, but I was curious to know if this Gary Glitter song caused any controversy in America. I thought it was only over here in the UK as I imagined Glitter wasn't really that well known in the States. There were some people here complaining that he would be getting royalties from that particular song and, if so, they should be withdrawn.

It was the US as well because people like to be ‘offended’ these days and jump on the bandwagon. Some of these People failed to see the irony that they had Rosemary’s Baby in their collection.

I think it was discovered later that Glitter wasn’t making a penny from the song anyway. That’s just the world we live in though. These snowflakes are going to be stirring up trouble film wise for years to come. I wouldn’t be surprised if Dumbo is banned in the future for offending people with big ears!

It’s getting out of hand. Not film related, but one guy on some U.K. reality show claimed that kids shouldn’t be taught about the war as it may traumatise them.

Needless to say, he was shot down by hundreds of thousands of people. Quite rightly so. Idiot imo.

Yes, I remember the article in the paper. It's beyond ridiculous now, I completely agree with you. They'll be trying to abolish history lessons altogether next, just in case some past event which took place causes any distress.

I just googled this and this is the first line of the first story I found.

A 22-year-old reality TV star and social media “influencer”...

Seriously? If 'hundreds of thousands' of people are getting bent out of shape over something a reality tv star says then maybe you're on to something when you say the outrage culture is getting out of hand.

Then again, to be fair, he's not just a reality tv star. He's a social media influencer too.

You laugh but these guys are worth millions to the industry. Twitch, Youtube etc.. are breeding grounds for these type of ‘stars’. As much as I hate it, it’s the way of the world now. Some people can sit and watch Twitch for hours, just watching some streamer play games or talk about irrelevant shit. It’s a huge, growing part of the entertainment business along with esports.
Amazon know there is huge potential to stream films, games, quizzes, documentaries and regular tv with a live watch party for example. I brought the point up with Vilya a while back. Some of the huge streamers attract tens of millions and of course, that’s dollar signs right there. Twitch is even streaming cook-alongs and the like.

Blimey. You must be young to not know who he is. Not that it’s a bad thing. Pretty despicable human being.

Huge? Twitch is worth $3.79 billion. Disc sales in 2018 were higher than that. Compared to other parts of the home entertainment industry, like pay TV, Twitch barely even registers.

Further, it is just one option among many and it is nothing to be afraid of as all other entertainment options remain entirely unaffected. It doesn't sound interesting to me at all, so I have never watched it. I don't know anyone who has. When I mention the word "twitch" people think I am talking about a nervous condition.

Having lots of choices is a great thing; why they scare you so much is bizarre. Anyway, I will be somewhat scarce until I feel better; having a bit of a downturn again.

So what? Kim Kardashian is worth hundreds of millions and if people took her ramblings seriously I'd laugh my ass off at that too.

A 22 year old dipshit said something stupid.

You are right. However, it is huge. We have a scrap for viewers/gamers at the moment and Youtube, Twitch, Mixer and Google Stadia are going to be mega. We don’t know how it will form yet but whoever gets it right will be hosting the biggest money spinner in the industry (gaming). Not just that, but these things are seen as the future of live tv (including sport) for the next generation. We are seeing thousands of niches like table top gaming, Chess, Cooking etc.. attracting hundreds and thousands of viewers. It’s not hard to imagine a mixture of professional and amateur content existing as one eventually.

For example:

Live politics debates
Cook alongs
Live watch parties (FA Cup, Superbowl, talent shows, quizzes, singing contests, video game finals)
interactive news, watch parties for old tv shows from the 80’s and 90’s,
Augmented reality experiences, fashion stuff, Q&A with famous bloggers, live cinema watch parties (AR and VR)

Billions to be made from live streaming.

By the way, hope you are feeling better soon.

As would I, but we are not the future are we? Social media and streamers in general matter to these younger audiences.
