Urban has acknowledged knowing.

We’ll see. It depends if he reported it or not. So far he’s only lied on media day which means nothing.

Did he report it to the school and to title 9 for investigation if so then the rest is a moot point and nothing else matters. If not then yes he broke the rules. Really sick and tired of this guilty till proven innocent crap in the metoo era of things. This day in age things are just getting stupid. The fact this guy was on his staff does not mean a damn thing. Urban Meyer didnt beat her or mistreat her this is between her x husband, herself and the police his name shouldnt have even been brought up. And I say this as a fan of one of the schools to the North or OSU.

If he failed to escalate the situation to the proper authorities he probably violated Title IX. In addition, his contract reportedly includes character/moral clauses. Beyond all that even if he did report the incidents up the chain of command do you not think Meyer had some sort of social responsibility to fire a man whom he knew was beating his wife?

https://www.si.com/college-football/...ing-paid-leave

Quote:
Under Title IX, allegations that require reporting are those that concern the programs or activities of the university; here, an Ohio State football coach allegedly battering his wife likely qualifies as concerning the university. To bolster that interpretation, the university’s sexual misconduct policy unambiguously states, “Any employee who receives a disclosure of a sexual assault or becomes aware of information that would lead a reasonable person to believe that a sexual assault may have occurred involving anyone covered under this policy, must report all known information immediately” (emphasis added). Potential violations of Title IX can be investigated by the Justice Department’s Office of Civil Rights and persons victimized by such violations can bring civil lawsuits against the university.

I just read that Zach Smith is the grandson of Earle Bruce. Didn't know that.

Lets put apples to apples here as your quoting the sexual assault section of Title IX.

https://titleix.osu.edu/sidebar-reso...finitions.html

Quote:
Domestic violence

Conduct that would meet the definition of a felony or misdemeanor crime of violence committed by the complainant’s current or former spouse or intimate partner, a person with whom the complainant shares a child in common, a person who is or has cohabitated with the complainant as a spouse or intimate partner, or individual similarly situated to a spouse under domestic or family violence law, or anyone else protected under the domestic or family violence law of the jurisdiction in which the offense occurred. An individual need not be charged with or convicted of a criminal offense to be found responsible for domestic violence pursuant to this policy.
My issue with things is this, a simple allegation is enough these days to ruin someones career even if they did everything 100% correct. In this case we do not have all the facts. If Meyer reported to CPD, Campus Police, HR, and the Title IX investigators back in 2015 the allegations of domestic violence she is claiming against Smith then he did his job. His job is not to fire someone for an allegation as we've all seen false allegations before. Now if CPD did an investigation and brought charges and found cause then yes Meyer failed to do his job by keeping him on staff. As we do not have all the information in front of us at this time it is simply a he said she said. Why ruin someones career over something that may not be true.

I couldn't agree with you more. At what point should Meyer have done MORE than the actual police. Once I knew authorities were intervening I wouldn't have thought I needed to do anything more myself, if it had been me.

The worst part of all is it's not even guilty until proven innocent these days, it's guilty period. Being proven innocent doesn't matter, there's always a reason why the innocence is wrong. Biased Jury, corrupted society, people just don't "get it", etc.

I think a lot of people have gotten railroaded in the me too era but that's not how I see Smith. The pictures of his ex-wife's injuries, the text messages where he doesn't deny the abuse, and the texts between Smith's ex-wife and Urban's wife are very damning. There was just no reason for Urban to stake his reputation (and potentially his job) on an assistant that by most reports was not a good coach and only got the job because of who his grandfather was.

I wonder what Meyer’s and Herman’s relationship was like at Ohio State, because Herman is ice cold if this this true:
Quote:
Current Texas head coach and former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman tipped off Brett McMurphy, initiating his reporting on Zach Smith and Urban Meyer, according to Jeff Snook, who cited several anonymous sources.

Snook's report alleges Tom and his wife, Michelle Herman, encouraged Courtney Smith to come forward with allegations against her husband with the goal of getting Zach fired after five-star receiver Garrett Wilson chose Ohio State over Texas in late April.

Zach Smith Ordered Sex Toys to Ohio State Offices, Had Sex With Staffer, Took Nude Photos at White House

Documents and receipts Stadium has obtained show Zach Smith ordered more than $2,200 in sex toys, male apparel and photography equipment and had the items delivered to him at Ohio State’s Woody Hayes Athletic Center in 2015.

The Woody Hayes Athletic Center houses all Buckeye football operations.

All of the items were delivered to “Zach Smith, Woody Hayes Athletic Center, 535 Irving Schottenstein Drive, Columbus” between February and May 2015. Copies of some of those documents are listed below.

Courtney Smith said Zach Smith took multiple photos of his penis inside the Ohio State coaches’ offices, inside the White House when the Buckeyes visited in 2015 and also photographed himself in the coaches’ offices receiving oral sex and having sex with a OSU staffer.

After winning the 2014 national title, the Buckeyes were honored at the White House on April 20, 2015.

One photo of Smith’s penis, taken on April 20, 2015 according to a time stamp, shows Smith in his black suit he wore to the White House event. Another photo of Smith’s penis includes a White House bathroom towel featuring the Seal of the President of the United States.

Stadium will not publish the penis photos or the photos of the Ohio State staffer, who is no longer working with the football program.

Brad Koffel, Zach Smith’s attorney, said Friday that he had “no idea” about the photos and sex paraphernalia sent to Smith to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

The items delivered to Smith between February and May 2015 at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center include a men’s spider enhancer thong triple c— ring, body wear CS2 metallic erotic c— strap gold and snake skin, WildmanT ball lifter red, candyman men’s jock suspenders, PetitQ open slit bikini brief and studio pro product table top photography lighting kit.

The items were ordered and delivered mostly through Amazon from various companies/individuals including Captain Camo, StevenEven, Erogenos, Gypsy B and Devil’s Wink.

Two days ago, the Toledo Blade reported Smith was arrested for suspected drunken driving on Feb. 23, 2013, but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. Koffel told reporters that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was unaware of the 2013 arrest. Smith’s 2013 arrest had never been previously reported until Tuesday.

On July 23, Zach Smith was fired following my reports earlier that day of previously unreported domestic violence allegations against Smith, including his 2009 arrest while he was a member of Urban Meyer’s coaching staff at Florida.

On July 24, at Big Ten Media Days, Meyer was asked nine times about Smith or his 2015 domestic violence incidents and denied any knowledge of the 2015 incidents.

On Aug. 1, I reported – based on text messages, photos, emails, police reports, documents and an interview with Courtney Smith – that Meyer was aware of the 2015 incidents.

Later that day, Ohio State announced it would launch an investigation into Meyer. On Aug. 3, Meyer released a statement, acknowledging he had lied about having no knowledge of the 2015 incidents, but said he followed proper protocol.

On Aug. 5, the school announced that the investigation would be completed within 14 days.

Ohio State released a statement on Friday updating the progress of the investigation, saying “the investigation will be completed on Sunday, as planned.” The results of the investigation will be shared with the OSU Board of Trustees next week, at which time President Michael V. Drake will announce his decision on the matter.

The AP top 25 was released today. Pretty similar to the Coaches Poll with Alabama 1 and Clemson 2, but Ohio State is 5th in the AP vs 3rd in the Coaches, which was released before the Zach Smith situation.

@DaveBiddle

CliffsNotes version (from what I've been told): Ohio State's BoT wants to reinstate Urban Meyer immediately. University president Michael Drake is balking at that; wants Meyer to serve a suspension. Meyer refuses to serve suspension since he thinks he did nothing wrong. #Buckeyes
