Bosses are probably MORE annoying when they're not in the office. The constant need to be informed and connected is always going to be a factor.

Mine doesn't do that, but on a number of occasion over the years, he's said he'll be OOO and he'll end up being online.

my direct supervisor just started her vacation, yesterday. she'll be gone for the next 12 days.

thankfully, i know she won't call for any updates, to "check on things", or anything like that. hell, even when she's there she's never in anyone's face about anything (which is why i like her; plus she's cool).

It's not an old story, there are people out there who don't like tv, or would rather read, or doesn't like sports, etc. As popular as comic book movies are, I wouldn't be surprised if I met a woman who said she was into them.

Micromanaging bosses are the worst. I think it is one of the reasons why The Mrs and I are constantly butting heads. This was something I liked about my last job. My boss was pretty hands off and the only annoying thing was constant group messages when he wasn’t in the field. So outside of my team mates and accounts store management, I was left on my own.

All I wanted to do is come in, do my job and leave. I’ll definitely miss that independence if I have to go back on store level. On a similar note, debating on if I’m going to apply for a manager in training at Sam’s Club. Mainly because I’m afraid they’ll do the old switcharoory once I come in to interview. That seems to be a big problem around here.

I love it when forum members take the time to dig through old posts looking for ways to discredit something I've said. It's even funnier when they do it weeks or months after the fact. Don't they know that opinions change and evolve over time? lol

BTW, this post would normally go in the Pet Peeves section but this kind of thing doesn't bother me. Like I said, I just find it amusing.

wondering why i kept getting a bad gateway error message when i tried to open the site.

it's happened a few times the past 2-3 days.

Yes, but aren't supervisors supposed to be on call 24/7? Unless they're one of several supes I imagine someone in charge has to make themselves available.

What time of day were you trying to log on? There's a daily site maintenance protocol at around 6 AM that shuts the site down for about 5 minutes. I've also gotten the Bad Gateway message whenever there's a sitewide sale going on. There was some kind of Prime Day-like promotion going on recently

nah, no one in charge 24/7. we're pretty much self-sustaining and don't need a lot of supervision to do our jobs.

There’s a bit too much drama here at work. Not involving me or the Drillers I work directly with, it’s a couple of others.
Im guessing that when my Supervisor is back from holidays next rotation in, there’s gonna be some drastic things going on.

For as long as I can remember the door has been open, but since The MiL lives with us it is closed. Well, as closed as it can be. I’m waiting until the foundation is fixed to have the door corrected.

Wondering if I’m taking the boy to the movies today? I opened my big mouth to my wife that I might take our son to see Spider-Man Far from Home without checking the the times first.

And it looks like our favorite place only has one around noon and four. Kind of bummer, because I’m not sure if I want to try another theater elsewhere. I’ve grown so accustom to this one.
