Dan Murphy of ESPN.com reported spokesman David Ablauf said Michigan State didn't alert Michigan it was about to enter the stadium for its walk across the field, leading to the incidents.

Also, I think what blujacket was trying to say is that it's better they don't make the playoff than go and have another game like the Clemson one (31-0) two years ago.

For what it's worth, I agree with him. If they wind up as the #4 seed and they draw Alabama, they'd get annihilated just as easily as anyone else in that spot.

Ohio St. still has a decent chance of making the playoff but they didn't do themselves any favors here with a blowout loss to a so-so opponent.

I'm not worried about Alabama at all because I don't see them making the playoffs after this evening's performance. I was just using Alabama as an example because I don't think anyone's beating them this year, and whoever gets the 4 seed against them is going to get crushed.

If they beat That Team Up North (and thereby continuing to leave Harbaugh winless against them since he took over as HC there), the season will no doubt be regarded a success, and they'll probably wind up going to a non-playoff top 6 bowl.
