Yes, but the point is that Nolan was attracted to the material and agreed to work on the project b/c the stories are similar to the kinds of movies that he usually makes.

Rachel Dawes was not in the comics. He invented this character for the purpose of killing her to make the Batman story fall in line with his other movies.

Don't poke the Nolan fanboys. You will only make them angry and then their heads will explode Scanners style after they try and explain to you why you are wrong in any thoughts you might have about the films.

Which is why I said "mostly".

While I like most of Nolan's films, I think the author(or should I say auteur) was reading too much into his films, IMO.

I liked Nolan's version of Batman but at the same time I'm also glad he's done with it...he took the comic book fun out of it and tried to make it too gritty like a modern day crime story...it worked (Dark Knight) but at the same time it also had its share of flaws...also Nolan still hasn't grasped how to make a good action scene

I much prefer Nolan's other non-Batman movies as they were more original and inspried and worked better with his vision

Nah, that would be Whedonites like you who think every movie should star Nathan Fillion.

Not really funny but...

No, the reason she was created was for three reasons. First, to show that not everyone in Gotham that's in a position of power is corrupt. Two, to be Bruce's conscience. Finally, she's there to remind the audience of the life Bruce had and the life could've had had it not been for the death of his parents.

Nolan didn't conceive of the character to kill her off later.

Nolan has not make a good action scene?, so in order for an action scene to be good it has to be all explosions and destruction like michael bay? look at the batpod chase in TDK or the last 30mins of the dark knight rises, those are good action scenes, they are not the best sure but really, you think they are not good?

Yeah, I really liked seeing Catwoman kicking butt on the Batpod. She and Batman really showed up Talia.

the Batpod chase was not very well done at all...and no it's not all about explosions and destruction...the Batpod scene had plenty of those and it still was very average...same with the ending set pieces of Batman Begins and Dark Knight

Nolan just doesn't know how to frame an action set piece...the scope is all wrong...doesn't feel epic at all...Nolan's expertise is character driven and not action driven so that's why it always feels awkward when he tries to do one...IMAX cameras helped hide some of his flaws but overall he's not good at it

I'm not saying Nolan is a bad director or his movies are bad...I loved most of his films...the non-Batman ones are even better such as Prestige, Inception, Memento etc...those are all story driven movies

i agree that Nolan expertise is character driven but he has make good action scenes, in the batpod chase on the TDK when the truck flip it make me say wow, despite being so simple it was impressive because of the way he filmed the truck being flipped, and the tumbler chase was good too in, seeing all the things i could do, made for a entertaining chase scene in begins, and the last 30mins of rises was epic!, to me at least, the shot of thousands of cops and mercenarys fighting was well done, im not saying he is the best action scene director but he is good nonetheless, i was hyped in most of the action sequences in the dark knight trilogy

Are you an expert in the filming and directing business or are you just one of those typical internet dudes that think they know better than Nolan? Just curious...

Based on previous posts, I'm going with the latter.
