For the 2024 Oscar's nominations the main omission is for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Best Actor goes to Cillian, Leo or not.

I see that this is streaming on Apple+. It is a 3-hour plus movie, so I am going to save this for the weekend.

The ending almost killed the movie for me, but overall I had a good time watching it.

I just watched it for my fifth time, LOL.

Saw it three times in the theater, and twice at home.

I see it's going back into some theaters this weekend, after the nominations.

Two of my local theaters will have it this weekend.

My Italian BD is coming soon, too.

Just ordered the Italian 4K. Can't trust Apple to release this on U.S. physical media when we're still waiting on CODA.

Edit: Tried to go thru Amazon Italy, but my new credit card threw up a fraud flag & they couldn't get past it. Had to switch to eBay / PayPal.

This guy seems so untouchable. I've seen so, so many posters here get temp or permanent bans for far less. Just saw a poster get banned for being unrelenting and obnoxious, just the other day, and he didn't hold a candle to our friend. (You'd think he was a mod's sock or something).

I'm considering 'retiring' from this site (at least the forums) on a permanent basis.

Just not fun anymore.
Report him. At this point he's being toxic for the sake of being toxic. It's almost like Martin Scorsese ignored him at a restaurant and now he has a vendetta. They are offering very little to the site at this point and just trying to frustrate people for the sake of it.

I saw someone on Twitter that works in the industry mention it's getting a US release in the Fall a few days ago.

Would love to see the source if you're able to find it! Very good news if it's true, will be a day one buy for me

I'm not a huge fan of the movie, but I'd be interested in any bonuses features

Oh, pssshhh... I've reported him repeatedly.

They're not going to do anything to him. If anything, I'd bet if I kept reporting him, I'll likely get banned.

Must be a bud of some mods (or a mod incognito).

Even this morning, he's writing lengthy, angry posts about the injustice of KotFM even being nominated for anything, LOL. Still titling his posts, too....

He'd still be doing it in here, no question, but I think a mod actually 'nicely asked' him to leave this, particular thread alone, so now he's simply taken the same thing over to the Oscars thread.

Hmm...I hope not! What's interesting is that he is one of the biggest advocates for Lord of the Rings show which a lot of people didn't like and the thread got very little traffic, yet somehow it got a sticky, and wondered if he had any part in that.

Either way, I reported his latest post in the Academy Awards thread as he's once again pushing his agenda. I would suggest reporting that post so this way they see multiple people are having issues with him.

Let us know if it has forced Italian subtitles.

Can't find it. It was a recommended post about someone who was complaining about it not getting a physical release. Someone in the comments said it was coming in the Fall. I clicked his profile and he was someone who interviews people from boutique labels and his profile pictures was his set up/studio and the name of his channel which I don't remember.

Hopefully, it'll come from Criterion in the Fall.

I remember "The Irishman" hit theaters and Netflix in Nov. of 2019, and then came out on Criterion in Nov. of 2020. About a year turnaround.

I wish Criterion would announce this soon ("The Irishman" was announced in February of 2020), and then we'd just wait for it to be one of their tentpole November releases.

Yeah, I don't really care when it comes out as long as there's some kind of official announcement so I can rest easy lol

The Irishman was a Netflix release; they have a track record of releasing their most important films on physical media -- Roma, Marriage Story, The Power of the Dog, All Quiet on the Western Front, and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (maybe others) in addition to The Irishman.

Apple TV+ is just the opposite; they still have not released CODA on U.S. physical media, the only Best Picture winner not on U.S. DVD and (as of December when WAC finally dropped The Great Ziegfeld) one of three not on U.S. BD. Eagle Pictures managed to snag the Italian rights to both CODA & KotFM before Apple entered the picture in both cases.

I'm not going on rumors. If Scorsese and/or Paramount can force Apple to authorize a U.S. physical media release of KotFM, more power to them. I won't believe it until they announce it.

Apple+ has had some films released on disc. On the Rock was produced by both A24 and them, and it got a disc. Kinda similar to what they have with Paramount on this one. I'm sure Scorsese made it clear it would get a physical release.

Update: My conscientious Italian eBay seller PMed me to make sure I knew it was "Zone 2" (inaccurate term but I'm region-free) and had English & Italian audio (like CODA I'm sure -- yes I'll see if the Italian subs are burned in), neither an issue for me; but she also said her mail shipping time was "20 to 30 working days", not acceptable (IIRC longer than the listing said). Still had issues at Amazon Italy with my credit card, but switching to my debit card solved it; it will arrive in a week via "AmazonGlobal Rapide" (air express?) for less than the eBay copy. (Edit: DHL will deliver Tuesday.)
