Had one of the most honest, straightforward interviews today with 2 members of management. No sugar coating and pretty straight forward. While I’m still a little meh about it, I am hoping I’m scheduled a ride along to see what a days like so I can see if this works for me, and more importantly, them. Last thing either of us want is to waste one another’s time.
My parent's house is at least 500ft(if not closer) from a pair of very active railroad tracks, when i lived with them I actually got used to the trains going by regularly, they'd blow the whistle and the house would shake every single time and there were times I didn't even notice them.

Glad you had a good interview yesterday, hope every thing works out for you. I'm still putting in applications, as I need to find a job closer to home. I thought I had a good chance at another grocery warehouse position but supposedly they aren't hiring right now (ironic because these places usually have the highest turnover rates). Got an interview over at the area's largest FedEx hub tomorrow but the req I filled out didn't specify if it was a Driver or Warehouse position, I'm hoping its a Driver position as I'm sick of warehouse work frankly.

LOL, the train isn’t too bad. It is my neighbors across the street that have it bad. I’ve grown accustom to it and usually just pause whatever I’m doing when they blow through Mike. Good luck on the job front. They’ll most likely start you loading trucks at FedEx. That’s how it was when I went for a driving position at UPS a few weeks back.

The kicker is they’re still advertising for drivers on Indeed. I’m considering filling out an application for manager in training position at Sam’s Club. It, like the interview I went on isn’t ideal. As I kind of feel retail management is a dead end and nothing new. I wish I could find something that plays to my strengths, but opened me up to new experiences.

Woke up this morning feeling like my ears had plugs in them. A month ago I had to visit a specialist to look into this (it's an off-again, on-again thing) and they couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. No infection, excess wax, fluid buildup - nothing. They vacuumed my ears as a precaution but, again, it wasn't a wax problem although I've had an issue with excess wax in the past. Not sure what else to do. My paternal grandmother suffered from hearing loss and she revealed shortly before her death last year that she had some kind of an ear infection during her 40's that she never took care of, which she believes contributed to her hearing loss. I even underwent a hearing test and passed with flying colors. Hmmm.

Glad my car window regulator is finally being replaced tomorrow by my brother. He has a short window of time he's able to do it after he gets off work that actually cuts into my work schedule, but that's totally fine. He's a busy guy and I gotta take what I can get.

some people just shouldn't....exist

fat **** should've stayed at home, sitting on her couch, eating cheetos, and lamenting the slowness of her neighbor's wifi that she's stealing.

Yellowstone/Grand Teton was one of the best trips I ever took and if you can’t enjoy it, the problem is YOU.

I've seen more than one print ad in a public space that used the line "If (insert random hipster name like Cody or Logan) could give (insert US historical landmark) Zero stars, she/he would" and I'm always tempted to scrawl "Yeah, typical Flyover State cul-de-sac millennial BS" in magic marker underneath. This is one scary generation.

If you know the road is a dead end, do you keep going on that road or go another way? It is why I’m looking for a job that will utilize my years of experience and still challenge me in a new direction.
I posted this yesterday day in another thread, but I can’t help but keep thinking my encounter. I can’t get over how conditioned the merchandiser was. “While you were out shuffling for a new job, the rest of us were taken on by ABG here. Gene ABG worked really hard to get all that wanted to come on board a position until the merchandiser program opens up!” Get the **** out of my face with that shit!!

They were scrambling like the rest of us and your sorry ass started with them two days after I quit because of my car issues. Meet with new boss, same as the old boss. You are going to still be asked to accomplish the impossible tasks while not being compensated for it. That’s why I wouldn’t have stayed on even if I’d finished out my tenure. Interesting that both the store director and assistant manager for why I didn’t sign on, but you didn’t.

We checked out some new construction subdivisions yesterday and I fell in love with a floor plan that was a good size with a kick ass basement for me and all my gear. The lady loved it also but was less enthused by the price and how far out it was from where we are now. It kinda took a little bit of the wind from my sails and got me more agitated with the area which we live in now but I suppose I should pump my brakes, stay the course and see what else is out there and available.

I've always wondered if we had a general chat section. After being on this forum for 10 years, I never knew we had one.
