I've never had an e-book but as far as audio books go, there was a serial on BBC radio a few months ago called Vincent Price: The Price of Fear, in which Price reads a series of stories. I loved every minute of it, and he had the perfect voice for reading macabre stories. I looked on Amazon to see if they were available on CD, but unfortunately even the used copies are extremely expensive.
These may be public domain as this website offers free playback and even free mp3 downloads of 21 episodes:

https://www.oldtimeradiodownloads.co...ce-of-fear-the

"The Price of Fear was a 1970 horror and mystery show on BBC that featured American actor Vincent Leonard Price, Jr., or popularly known as Vincent Price. Believed to be highlight of Price’s radio career, the show had a total of 22 episodes, some of which featured adventure stories where Price played as himself, while some just had him introduce the story of the week. The show had a lot of writers, and among them, of course, was no other than Vincent Price himself."

I have not tried downloading them, but the free playback via the website itself seems to work.

The website says there were 22 episodes total, but for some reason they offer just 21.

Many thanks for that Vilya. It does look as though I missed quite a number of episodes as I only really stumbled across it by accident. There was an episode broadcast every evening fairly late on, so I listened to the remaining shows on each of the following nights.

Radio 4 Extra is really good for broadcasts of old BBC stuff from as far back as the 1960's. One of my favourites was a show called Men From The Ministry.....really funny if you get the chance to hear it.

I downloaded one of the episodes and that worked fine. When you opt to download there is also an option to buy the episode on cd for $5.

That same website offers Men From The Ministry, too:

Thank you, that's good to know as these are also extremely hard to get hold of. The BBC put out some cassettes many years ago, but I don't know if they've ever been released on CD.

Back in the 90's, there used to be a serial on BBC Radio 4 - I think it may have been called Comedy Gold, or something like that - where they actually broadcast lots of episodes of Men From The Ministry. Like everything else, some episodes are funnier than others, but many are real gems. There were loads of them recorded from the early 60's to the late 70's:

Perfect for the fast-food mentality crowd. Given the choice, I'd rather drink aged wine than diet soda (although I do drink both).

The part I highlighted is correct. Some episodes do have more of Vincent Price than others. Just reading back on my original post when I said he was reading a series of stories was a bit misleading, so my apologies for that. The episodes I listened to on the radio had him talking for a while at the start, and then interacting with some other actors, rather than actually reading a story as if from a book.

However for any Vincent Price fan such as myself, these recordings are well worth having.

The Edgar Allan Poe audio collection would be nice to have as well. It features both Vincent Price and Basil Rathbone reading a collection of Poe's classic stories.

If studios start releasing blockbuster films 3 weeks in advance, what's to keep some from just going digital?

I say it's going to happen, Movies and TV Shows will just come out on Digital first then the Studios will decide if the demand is there for a Disc Release. The Digital Release will get shorter and shorter, and Disc Release will come out later with prices going up because of the perceived better Quality and extra fluff.

They already do this? It hasn’t helped Digital HD has it? Adoption rates are poor and quality lovers don’t mind waiting to get the best.

The studios will already know the demand because the film will have sank or swam at the cinema. You haven’t thought that through have you?

If you are suggesting Digital HD will be the only release and exclude cinemas? Not a chance.

Guys, you need to get over it. Digital HD has been a big bellyflop.

That long of a digital window? I was only aware of the 2 week window. OUATIH was originally going to be released next week on 11/26.

Well, whatever. They already release earlier than disc and Digital HD sales are limp.

It may have nothing to do with a "digital window." Physical releases sometimes get delayed for entirely unrelated production reasons. With this year's consolidation of pressing plants, such production delays have been more common.

The emphasis may have switched to pressing all of those final season Game Of Thrones sets due on Dec. 3rd. Who knows the reason for the delay? Who cares? I'm buying the disc edition regardless.
