Default MY FAIR LADY - 50th Anniversary Edition

I received my copy of the fabulously restored My Fair Lady on release day (October 27), and had my first hands-on look at a Neo case. I have no quarrel with fans of the Neo case—I’m just not one of them. A custom cover was clearly in order, and my inspiration came with the discovery of a high-resolution version of this original 1964 theatrical poster with its wonderful illustration by Bob Peak (a similar version was used for at least one Warner DVD edition):

My Fair Lady Bob Peak poster PREVIEW.jpg

Admittedly my Photoshop skills are those of a craftsman rather than a creative artist. Most of my cover postings on this thread have been custom re-creations of Criterion digipaks. I can’t hope to equal the elegant and astoundingly elaborate MFL custom posted by ctaulbee (at EuphoricFX and CustoManiacs). Mine is simple and attempts little more than to make full use of that wonderful poster:

My Fair Lady PREVIEW 2 - FULL POSTER.jpg

The full-resolution version of this cover is available via PM request with your e-mail address included.

See spoiler for the rather interesting backstory as to why this Warner Bros. film is not a Warner Blu-ray release.

[Show spoiler]The film version of My Fair Lady was a Warner Bros. production in its entirety, with Jack Warner himself taking on the role of producer for the last time. CBS financed the original Broadway production (which premiered in 1956) in exchange for the rights to the cast album (through Columbia Records). When Warner bought the film rights in February 1962 for the then-unprecedented sum of $5 million, it was agreed that the rights to the film would revert to CBS seven years following release. Thus, in 1971, the film and all elements came under CBS ownership. When CBS partnered with Fox (CBS/Fox), they issued videocassette and laserdisc editions. CBS paid for the 1994 restoration by Robert Harris and James Katz. Warner Home Video leased the home video rights from CBS during the period 1998-2007 and released DVD editions. Both CBS and Paramount were owned by Viacom until 2006, so apparently an arrangement to distribute My Fair Lady after the Warner contract ended was set in motion around that time.

NOTE: A big thank you to CT at EuphoricFX for generously providing his modified version of the poster I used for the front. He reworked and resized it for a Blu-ray cover, but ultimately decided not to use it for his MFL custom.

This may be the wrong spot to ask this but it wouldn't let me post in the main forum...Alright so I have a bunch of the 4 film favorites blu ray collections and I dont like how the discs are stacked on top of each other so I wanted to get some cases with the tray in it so I can fit four. I bought some and I don't like them at all, the tray used is actually like a really hard plastic unlike others I have which has the normal plastic used for the case. Was wondering if I could get a recommendation for a good four disc case, thanks !

Hey guys,
does anyone have a slipcover template for australian blu-ray cases? (4mm spine I believe? need to double check that)
If not, any slip template will do and I'll edit the spine.

making a cover for a custom berserk blu-ray I'm slapping together.

just started messing around with a Bram Stoker's Dracula cover. found the front cover as is searching google and set the rest up to look like a book. i know the movie wasn't made by warner, just dont have a sony/columbia template, so i have to change it later.

so its just a WIP right now, let me know what you think. hopefully i will have it finished by the weekend if i get some spare time.

Default My Fair Lady Cover Image

I am soliciting opinions. I have made two different front cover images for the new anniversary edition of My Fair Lady and am truly unable to decide which I prefer. I guess I'm too close to both (which is your favorite child?).

I like version 1 of the cover art Robert, but they are both very beautiful fronts.

If I had to choose I'd probably go with the second one which calls out the "50th Anniversary Edition" and doesn't contain the Warner blurb under the title treatment. Either looks nice though. So here's a question. Which one ties is better with your back cover? Assuming the color palette of the front cover is going to carry over in some way to the back cover. Perhaps you have a preference there. Just a thought.

That works. The umbrella stem running up between the letters I'm finding distracting though. Much better without the Warner blub though I think. If you like that pic better I'd probably just remove the "50th Anniversary Edition" treatment and call it a day. Could always offer versions with and without. Looking forward to seeing the back portion of the cover. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.

Default Children of the Corn 2

Here is a work in progress for Children of the Corn 2. It's a conversion of the DVD cover, which, I actually think is a pretty badass cover to begin with, so, I didn't do much to it. Still need to add in final special features and fix up the synopsis.
