Good news for Ohio St. is Georgia lost. Bad news is Oklahoma won by a good margin. They're probably going to have to blowout Northwestern by 5+ TD's for a chance at the playoff.

They have a good case, but it's almost certainly going to be Oklahoma. Given Oklahoma was already ahead of them in the playoff ranking coming into this week and Oklahoma beat a higher ranked opponent than OSU in the conf title game it seems hard to believe the Buckeyes are going to leapfrog the Sooners.

Orange Bowl: Clemson (-8.5) vs. Notre Dame

Other major bowl games:
Rose Bowl: Ohio St. (-5) vs. Washington

If I took OSU and put them up against any of the 4 previously mentioned except maybe ND they lose by a hefty margin.

I feel like we say this every year, but once again, it’s so silly to have 5 major conferences and only four playoff spots.

I agree. Need to expand the playoff, but they’d have to drop a game or two from their regular season if they did.

I don’t think they would need to. Or just move the championship game back.

i agree, as well. but, unfortunately, the committee has said on several occasions that they have no plans on expanding anytime soon; which is asinine, imo. they need to go to 8 teams within the next 2-3 years.

*drop the regular season to 10 games (with off weeks, it goes to 11 weeks)
*teams should play nobody but conference opponents during regular season
*move conference championship games to 2 weeks after regular season
*playoffs start 4 weeks after conf. champ. games

also, stop coming up with more and more bowl games and allowing teams that have losing records (5-7) to go to a bowl game. this is college...participation trophies shouldn't be a thing. hell, i even have apprehension about letting a 6-6 team go to a bowl game. being 6-6 just means you were mediocre enough to win as many games as you lost. but that's all just my opinion and doesn't amount to much.

I’m fine with the current schedule format, and I like the non-conference games. There’s so much time from now that more games can be in without taking any away.

I agree tho on all the bowl games. Most of them are pretty dumb with teams no one cares about.

Well if they expand to 8, you’d be looking at 17 games. I think that’s too much. I think a lot more of those kids would leave early for the NFL too
