First of all I just want to say that I love this series and will be buying Season 2 day one but I really hate how seasons are released so close to the new one coming out, it barely gives people time to watch them again.

I would think for most people who are really into a series, a little over a month would be plenty of time to watch or re-watch ten episodes. In fact, that seems like almost perfect timing so that it's still fresh in one's mind for the new season.

I am "really into this series" but I find it hard to watch 10 hours of a series on a month when I have to juggle it with work, social life, other shows/movies etc.

There's a little over five weeks (nearly six weeks in fact) between the release of season two and the premiere of season three. That's less than two episodes (or less than two hours) a week. It would be one thing if it was released a week or two before the premiere of the new season, but five to six weeks is plenty of time for most. It won't be plenty of time for all people, but it's a decent release window that not only gives most people time to watch it, but also generates excitement for the new season. It's a pretty optimal release time frame for a series like this for viewers and for HBO. It won't be for everyone, but of course nothing works for everyone.

Well that's usually how most TV shows are released. The previous season is always released a few weeks before the new season starts.

You can always just wait and watch every season, here on out, on BD.
That's what I did with S2. I love the show, and had it all on DVR, but knew I was going to be getting S2 BD day 1 anyway...so I deleted it all. Just watched other stuff.
Plus I'll get all the extras in one shot as well!

I'm wanting to buy Season 2 from Best Buy. Holding out hopes they do some slipcovers again. I bought Targaryen initially but before opening it returned it for the last Stark. The other did have such a cool dragon though.

Social life and work is understandable.

But complaining because you have other shows/movies to watch is nobody's fault but your own.

Let's see, 56% of my DVR is filled with Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Sid the Science Kid, Blue's Clues, Oswald, Octonauts, and Little Bear.

Best friend my ass, lol.

Nah, I get what you mean. There's no way we'd be able to watch most of our shows after he goes to bed without it!

That's just too funny! I understand exactly what you're saying!
My boy loves: Jake, Pocoyo, Mickey, and Octonauts!
I have to ask, why 56%? I only do 6 episodes of each which is about ~9% of my DVR. The little guy is happy as I rotate them around, when needed.

Sorry for being so off OT on this thread. I'll stop. I promise!

Was holding out on this one, didnt look THAT interesting. Then when I saw a haul pic with Collectors set with the egg I jumped on it and it sat on my shelf for 2-3 weeks.

Then last Friday I thoughtd Id give an episode a shot, see what it was all about.. 3 in a row before I had to call it a night at 03.30, then the rest 7 in a row on saturday. Fantastic

Just because there are some old ones from way back when that he loved so dearly, that I'm kind of clinging on to because I'd be sad to delete them, lol. It's sad that he's growing up and preferring the newer things to the older things that he used to watch all the time. I'll need the space soon enough, and I'll start deleting, lol.

It truly is one of the best shows to come from HBO since the days of The Sopranos and Six Feet Under... and Deadwood.

I'm not sure if this has been asked already, but has there been any word or photos on the Season 2 packaging?

The reason I bought the US version of S1 over the local release, was for the embossing and glossy digipack that this series deserves.

Being that the Second season is now a BD+DVD set, it makes me think the packaging will be very different.. either an amaray (Eg; Person of Interest S1) or a much thinner, lower quality digipack like Boardwalk Empire S2?

I'll have time to watch it all, but I don't see why it couldn't come out around the holiday season. I am fully aware that it is my own fault to watch other shows and movies at the same time but we do live in a golden age of quality television here and it would be nice to have some more time to catch up before it starts up again. That being said I like your idea of watching a couple episodes a week.

As for my thought on Season 2 I definitely thought it was a bit more unbalanced then Season 1 since that had the murder plot to tie mostly everything together. S2 seemed to be moving pieces around and setting up an epic third season however, but I wouldn't know as I read the books after the seasons so as to not spoil the fun.

That's exactly it. Season 2 is superb, but you have to understand it is not a stand alone season like season 1 was. Season 1 really was like the prologue the introduction. Season 2 (A Clash of Kings) is very much the set up for a lot of greatness. It truly is more of a beginning with no end so that's why some feel that way. Watch it again and you will change your mind I'm sure. It's still brilliant.

A few pages back it was mentioned that it will have 5 featurettes:

And from the Target website:

Quote:
Exclusive 20 Minute Interview with George R.R. Martin about Season 2, the writing of Episode 9, new characters and much more!
If you look at the image of the season 2 cover on Target's site, the exclusive sticker says:

Quote:
Bones Blu-ray Disc Includes: A 20-minute in-depth feature with the author of the series, George R.R. Marting. Plus 4 behind-the-scenese featurettes.

This sounds exactly like my brother's DVR filled with stuff for his 18 month old son!
