Halloween co-screenwriter Danny McBride almost pitched making back-to-back sequels.

Quote:
“We were going to shoot two of them back-to-back,” said McBride, who co-wrote the Halloween script with Green and Jeff Fradley (Vice Principals). “Then we were like, Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This could come out, and everyone could hate us, and we’d never work again. So, let’s not have to sit around for a year while we wait for another movie to come out that we know people aren’t going to like. So, we were like, Let’s learn from this, and see what works, and what doesn’t. But we definitely have an idea of where we would go [with] this branch of the story and hopefully we get a chance to do it.”

I'm OK with a bit of gore but I wouldn't go much further than Halloween 2 style.

I loved the teeth scene in the trailer. That's how you do it. Scary and you don't quite know what happened.

Suspense and tension is what makes Halloween great. I just hope they can recapture that because it's been lost since part 2.

Personally, I think H20 is great. Yeah, it's a bit Dawson Creek with the dialogue and there is definitely a Scream influence but they also got a helluva lot of things right. It was great seeing it opening weekend with a crowd that was really into. Actually, it was a really fun movie going experience. And the first face to face moment is one of the best moments in the entire series of movies.

Speaking of the Zombie Restroom scene, I've always thought they should have done a solo prequel Joe Grizzly movie! I'd love to see a movie with Ken Foree getting into all sorts of scraps in his eighteen wheeler!

The franchise has been rebooted before and may be rebooted again.
The movies aren't taken off your shelf.
I can't be the only person who sometimes is in the mood for Laurie Strode and sometimes in the mood for Jamie Lloyd.
I expect H2018 to be entertaining, and if it's not, I'll ignore it.
It's a Choose Your Own Adventure book at this point.

I'm shocked to see people rate RZ's H2 as anything but the absolute basement of the franchise.

That's all.

That would be H5, H6 & Resurrection.

If RZ wanted to remake a movie, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre would fit his style better (from what I remember House of 1000 Corpses was similar). Halloween is too subtle and atmospheric for him. If Zombie was directing the new Halloween, he’d probably show all the teeth from that guy’s mouth being pulled out in gory detail while some random woman in the background gets raped.

I thought both of his Halloween films were good & they're some of my favorites in the series I do agree he'd prob not make a good Texas Chainsaw film.

I know it appears to ignore 1981s Halloween II, but until we see it we will know the truth for sure. So until then or even after I’m considering this the official Halloween III that should have been.....

Love the Halloween III homage in the trailer. Pause it at 2:07 and you’ll see a couple kids wearing Silver Shamrock masks.

I view Halloween III as the official Halloween II. The Michael Myers story was perfectly wrapped up in the original film. He was the boogeyman and you can't kill the boogeyman, he will always be a presence that is out there somewhere in the shadows. Attempts to better explain him or bring a conclusion to the story, feels fundamentally wrong in concept. This trailer is a hodgepodge of fan service moments being attached to nothing interesting. Pass.

Wouldn't that be a neat twist? They lead you to believe this is direct sequel to the first film, but then when you see it, you discover that it actually is a direct sequel to Halloween II, making it the true Halloween III!

No one will know this until they see the shot of Michael Myers in this movie, without his mask, appearing as the severe burn victim he is.
