This thread has so many different opinions on the film. Also, on PQ and AQ, that I guess I'll just have to buy it and form my own opinion.
I have two 4K set ups, but I will not buy 4k discs with any thing less than 7.1 audio, of which I only have 1/30 (The Revenant) the rest are all Atmos/DTS:X. I've seen a decent looking Blu-ray SteelBook in my local store, and I will pick this up when its on sale. Still haven't seen it yet. |

So now that I spent 2 hours sleuthing a cause to my sound cutting out during Dunkirk, I’m relieved to see here I’m not going crazy. First time sound cuts out is approx 7 minutes into the movies, bombs dropping on beach. Also at 26:34 ( three separate times and also 38:42.
SONY X800 DVD PLAYER SONY 900E TV DENON AVR-687 AV RECIEVER Amazon basics HDMI (4K ready) ANYONE HAVE A CURE? Update...my DVD player just froze as I was writing this! Moved it away from atop the RECIEVER (not a good idea to begin with) let cool then restarted. In the mean time...just replaced my fibre optic audio cable from TV to RECIEVER replaced with a digital coaxial from DVD direct TO RECIEVER INSTEAD ...So far not audio cutting out at the usual 7 minute bomb-dropping. Fingers crossed!! Last edited by PAULY-G; 01-07-2018 at 01:13 AM. |

It's a shame that an Imax film cell was not included with this title like they did with Interstellar. I bought 3 copies of Interstellar for those cells. Possibly because this wasn't released by Paramount.

Why is that UHD BD is so much more fragile than BD? I have almost never seen a scratch on a regular BD. Are UHD BDs using a different coating?

Are you also using fiber optic or coaxial instead of HDMI for audio? Just trying to figure out if there is anything more relayed than just the UHD player and tv.

I had the same sound cutouts during the bombing sequences on my soundbar (optical to the TV), and just using the TV speakers.

I'm also having audio issues with Dunkirk. The audio doesn't cut out, there is NO audio at all. At first I believed that my stereo receiver could be the source of the problem but most of my other UHDs work fine. Notice I said most: on some discs on Lost the complete series Blu-rays I don't have audio until the main menu loads. I'm currently using an optical cable from the TV (Sony XBR75X850E) to the receiver. A new multichannel receiver is on my shopping list but not for a while. In the case of Dunkirk, could it be a defective disc?
