I mean yes, it’s always partially going to be, but there should be some blame on Marvel for the negative reaction many had. They had already teased this was going to lead into Multiverse of Madness and then cast an actor from the Fox X-Men films as seemingly his same character again.

Fans were always going to expect this to be a connection to the multiverse until it was proved false. Especially because unlike Spiderman Far From Home where people were likely assuming Mysterio was full of crap from the beginning, this wasn’t immediately clear to be a deception until the 6th episode started making you question who he was. Even then, we had to wait until the 8th to hear that he’d been possessed, still not spelling out he was a random guy until the finale.

There was also never any explanation how Agatha could grant a normal person superpowers (which to me seems a big deal). Having that ability could seemingly break the world if you started doing it to a bunch of people.

So yeah, Marvel could have easily just cast Aaron Taylor Johnson again, had Agatha do a spell that changed some random guys appearance to Pietro’s and that would have been a more effective and less irritating twist in my opinion. Which to me lays the majority of the blame at Marvels feet cause even if there was some other actor in that role, it wouldn’t have led fans to the theory they made after episode 5.

People want instant payoff. There are still lingering questions. Who was Jimmy's witness? Why did Ralph not have an ID? The Westview story is not over.

Is it though? I can’t imagine what a possible second season would be about? Because Wanda obviously going to be in Doctor Strange 2 and Monica is definitely returning in Captain Marvel 2 and possibly Secret Invasion. White Vision might return in some form with Armor Wars.

Even more bizarre is this last episode was titled ‘The Series Finale.’ Which I know is inspired from Wanda’s “series” of playtime being put to an end in Westview, unless this was to be a one season mini-series. It was never clear.

I have a theory on this. (I'll put spoilers in case someone hasn't finished the series yet)

[Show spoiler]The colors of their magic seem deliberate. They are the same as the Infinity Stones.
Wanda has red like the Reality Stone, and she can bend reality as she wishes.
The witches in the past had blue like the Space Stone, which seemed they were using to "burn" her at the stake (Red Skull anyone?).
Agatha on the other hand had purple like the Power Stone. The way she took the power from the witches (and Wanda) was almost like we saw in Guardians (Quill and co. were turning gray). So if Agatha has magic based on the Power Stone, it seems she has the ability to take and "give" powers using her magic.

An added note: Wanda said she has the Mind Stone power inside her, thus she was able to recreate Vision. Her power is not like the Mind Stone but like the Reality Stone. And now having absorbed Agatha's magic source, if my theory is correct, Wanda has the power of three Infinity Stones!? Or perhaps ALL Stones?

Having thought about the series, I think casting Evan Peters as Fietro was a mistake.

It in someways distracts from the true themes of the show.

I didn’t give a **** about fox universe etc. so I am not expressing a reservation based on that.

But due to the fact that the theorizing went totally sideways and got out of control.

If people are disappointed by the finale, it is the makers own fault.

They should have cast some other actor. By casting Peters they were being too clever but all in all it backfired.

I almost forgot watching this, that Wanda has been trained to fight by Cap and Natasha. 2 people who rely on strategy. So when Agnes is absorbing her powers, she throws a car at her. Liked the shoes under the car nod to Wizard of Oz.

So you’re blaming the producers for fans wild and out there theories that weren’t true?

That’s the fans own faults for overhyping themselves. The only blame I can place would be Bettany trolling the fans thinking we were to get some A-List Avengers cameo.
