This website is hysterical. Under the bold red banner at the top of the home page it proclaims the best deals on blu-ray. One such featured title, The Man In The White Suit, has dropped 1 solitary cent in price. Another title dropped two cents and two others have dropped a whole nickel!

I must stampede my way to Amazon to get these massive savings while they last! If I buy them all, I will save 13 cents total!

plus no real DMR (I don't have an issue withy DMR on disks, because I can take the disk with me and play it on an other player, but with a digital DL I need to be able to move it to a portable drive and then connect that portable drive to a different player while neither end needing an internet connection or being dependent on the player)

and much cheaper storage (those 12 UHD BDs that I bought on black Friday don't need storage, if I need to add a TB SSD with that purchase it needs to be cheap)

One amazing youngster, an 18 year-old Irish teenager, has come up with an innovative way to remove micro plastics from our ocenas. He won the Google Science Award and $50,000.

Today's youth hold great promise. This is just one example of many. Not all of the news is bad, but it is if that is all that you choose to read.

If I could do 1:1 downloads of movies without the DRM that makes us use proprietary software, specific devices, and internet authentication to play them, I would be fine with that.

But that's not the reality, is it? Digital downloads are NOT 1:1 versions, except for the exorbitantly priced Kaleidescape system, and they are all riddled with oppressive DRM.

As for laying a guilt trip on people, that's ; people in our consumerist society do as they please and they do it often. That will not change.

Give us something new to be afraid of; I am of these reruns of yours.

not only that but time is time will the people spending 6h a day on their but watching bad videos speed watch for 3h and then go outside for a 3h hike?

For me have a nice conversation with some smart guys, have a good laugh at Alchav, see Steedeel's fear of the week..... a lot of different stuff.

But if none of it interests you, isn't it easier for you just to dismiss one thread then asking it to be closed because what is discussed does not interest you?

All I know is my 11 year old base model Hyundai Elantra is good enough to keep me from buying a brand new Lamborghini. Does that mean that there is no difference in age of vehicles, motor power, top speed, luxury, looks, head turning.... No, all it means is I don't care about any of that.

you should not be such a snowflake it was not meant to exclude you from the conversations with smart guys, but to honor and emphasize the reality that your fear of the week is one of the reasons that I look forward to reading this thread every weekend.

I don’t have a fear of the week. It’s pretty much the same half a dozen over the years.

You are one of the greenest people here as often as you recycle those fears.

This is amusing. You continually spread falsehoods and denigrate people's chosen format and then say there is too much hate in the world when called on it. I don't hate you. But I will call you out for your purposefully confrontational and ill informed posts. You have been proven incorrect time and time again yet still post your inane nonsense. As I have stated previously, you are either incapable of rational thought or do it intentionally to get a rise out of people. My mistake was taking the bait, which I will no longer do.

I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas.

It is less prominent on disc. The bottom line is disc sales are declining. Partly due to people gravitating towards digital, but also due to stores stocking less discs and specialty stores going our of business (due to declining disc sales). For most people, it's cheaper to have a few subscriptions than to buy multiple discs per month. There are many people who won't buy anything until it's dirt cheap on Black Friday. That doesn't help the cause either. Will plastic discs be a cool niche item like Vinyl in the future? Who knows? But right now, disc sales are declining. That is a fact.
I promise you he is not the victim here. Just check out his previous posts if you haven't already.
