Where is this coming from? Would be great if true but last I saw is CFP chairman saying don't expect it before 2026.

Nicole Auerbach wrote an article about it in The Athletic towards the end of December. Not sure if you are a subscriber or not, but it certainly gave a positive vibe towards expansion sooner rather than later. Jim Delaney in particular seems tired of drawing the short straw.

That's just never going to happen I'm afraid. Perhaps some of the mid-tier teams like Pitt and Syracuse and the like would be open to it. But UF, FSU, Texas, USC, Bama, etc. are not interested in making it seem "fair" when they can have a 75% full stadium and still keep millions at home. I have heard the defense that losing a home game means more to UCF than UF, but I don't think UF really cares nor should they. Two years of early fall hurricanes in the Carolinas have really hurt UCF also.

Hard to win a shootout with a backup freshman QB and not your star QB. That’s like fighting an MMA fighter with one hand tied behind your back.

Edit: It looks like Kingsbury is still employed at USC and they're allowing him to interview, although there were rumors he was threatening to quit if they didn't let him interview so they may not have had a lot of choice in the matter:

I just don't understand why he didn't put it in his contract that he could interview for NFL jobs. It's not like it's surprising that teams want interview him, it was widely reported before he took the USC job that he'd be a candidate for NFL head coaching jobs.

Yeah, I’ve read how highly he is thought of in both NCAA and NFL circles. It’s tough to win at Texas Tech.
