That little footprint tease had me convinced that they would drop the trailer on Christmas day so this is disappointing

If Godzilla existed in real life, he wouldn't be able to stand up

Quote:
The newest Godzilla is bigger than ever, towering at a whopping 119 meters. At that size, his heart wouldn’t be able to pump blood to his brain. And if he were a reptile, he’d have to spend all his time sunbathing to keep warm, while a mammal of his size would cook itself with its own body heat.

As someone who has enjoyed all three films I’d say after this one, the Monsterverse will very likely be at a definitive end. So long as GvK has a concise ending, I’ll be more than satisfied with a neat four film set.

It depends how Warner Media handles the HBO Max day and date/theatrical release for all Legendary films. Last I heard Legendary was demanding Warner pony up $200MM+ if they intend to move forward with the current release platform for GvK.

Personally I'd love to see the Monsterverse continue on and evolve to include other Kaiju yet to be showcased in any of the films: (Gigan, Hedorah, King Caesar, Biollante, Destoroyah, Anguirus, Kumonga) to name a few.

This will be the end of the “Monsterverse” and ultimately Legendary. They’re just suing out of bitterness (which I do kind of understand) and an attempt to get some quick cash to stay solvent. Demanding $200 million from AT&T/Warner is funny since the film wasn’t going to gross more than $400 million world wide.

The big question is which studio dies first; Legendary or MGM?

Legendary would have plenty of money if they didn't put out worthless crap like The Great Wall and Pacific Rim Uprising.

How big do you want him to be? I think he should be bigger than most modern movies, his size has always changed to scale with the buildings of the era.

Or alternatively, if Legendary wanted people to be invested in this new Godzilla Franchise to show up in a theater if remotely, or watch it, maybe they should, I don't know... make a story that's not so ludicrous that almost makes any of the Transformers films Citizen Kane by comparison? And Actually have Godzilla be Seen?

No, they're suing because Warners not only broke their contract but stopped them making a $200m+ sale to Netflix that would have seen both Legendary and Warners recoup their investment while trying to wrangle a deal that would see Legendary end up owing them money for marketing. Considering Legendary is owned by the Wanda Group (assets: $86b) it's a fight they can afford.
