Canada Paradigm Studio 10's

What do you all think about the Studio 10's as surrounds...The plan is to use the rosenut studio 10's as rear surrounds. Ill probably be ordering them in the next few weeks.

I may get some Emotiva Erd-1's (the paradigm adp-590s are too pricey for me) as side bi-pole surrounds down the line later as well, make it a full 7.1 set-up.

Hey Rick.. I think they would be perfect for rear surrounds.. If I had a few feet behind my back row I wouldve got them instead of the Energy RC-R's. That's probably what I would do if I get a bigger space..

I think that the Studio 10's would be great for rear/surround if you have the room. Don't forget, they would probably need a little extra space....

Looks like one of my ADP-590 is toast again. I've had them for 1 1/2 years and the tweeter on my right surround blew on me last March so they replaced the tweeter and all was well.

Then after a month or so listening at moderate levels the tweeter blew again on the same surround speaker. Now I'm tempted to tell them to just replace the whole speaker cause clearly there's something wrong internally that's causing the tweeter drive to blow.

These speakers are covered for 5 years under warranty but this is really getting frustrating.
The ADP590 are fantastic speakers by the way it just seems i got a lemon.

I will extend this offer through Oct 31st. If you are in the market for something simply email me ryan.p3h@rogers.com, or PM me. But I do ask that you know what you want and are ready to go ahead. There is no shipping at all. To receive the item you can either come to my store or we can arrange a meeting where I will provide you a receipt and have you sign paperwork if you are paying by credit card.

Thanks guys,
Ryan

Default Which Paradigms are right for me?

Thinking about making a paradigm shift in my speaker selection. hehe... My living room is pretty small, at 12 ft wide, and the listening area is about 7ft away from mains. The back wall is another 10ft behind the listening position. I currently have Wharfedale diamond 9.6 mains, great speaker, but the room is simply too small and is causing ear fatigue. I would like to implement a 5.1. setup using paradigm speaks. Which model's do you owners recommend for my room? They all get great reviews across the board. Keep in mind I have dual Emotiva Ultra 12 subs, so lack of low freqs isn't an issue. Thanks in advance!

Well, I'm just going to purchase the mains for now. $600 is the budget for front mains.

Sounds like our rooms are about the same size. Personally, I was using my Dahlquist as my mains, but found them too large for the room, so I found a pair of Atom Monitor speakers to replace them (the Dahls are now used in my 2 Ch. system). While the Atom Monitors are only bookshelf speakers, I'm very happy with the sound, especially since they timbre match my center speaker. Why not buy 3 of them (or the slightly larger Titan Montiros) for your front stage and, if in the future you want larger main speakers, you can then move them to your rears?

what are the main differences between the atom, the mini and the titan? I've had all three suggested to me.

With that budget, I would see if audiogon has any good used gear for sale.
