I was thinking about Braveheart earlier. It's a great film. Angus McFadyen who played Robert The Bruce was awesome. The movie was on AMC a few times a couple months ago. It's one of my favorite movies and I love the whole thing.

it's one of those movie that really doesn't have any bad parts in it....at least in my eyes.

It's odd that lining up to purchase something that you want, makes you an idiot.

I'll be lining up in a week and a half for a brew at a hockey game. Me and a few hundred (thousand?). We're all idiots?
In December, I'll be in line to get t-shirts at a concert I've been wanting for quite awhile. Me and those few hundred are idiots as well?

I get a new iPhone every 2nd year when my contract is up. I don't line up though, I wait a month.

Sticks and stones, fella.

There's nothing here for a fight, fella. Stop looking for something to argue about. It's an opinion thread. Just let it be.

Only one day into my sobriety...yeah, I'm not going to make it. Found out I have high BP, the wife said give up coffee or beer. I said I couldn't give up coffee, now I'm regretting it.

The comments below probably belong in an Unpopular Opinions thread but my search only turned up product-specific UO threads, like cars and movies, so I'll post it here.

So it is my belief that once you purchase a product, any product, the sale should be final unless the product is broken or has some kind of defect, which is hard to prove unless you film the unboxing. I think stores' return policies are too liberal, which makes people feel entitled to return merchandise for whatever reason they want. How are businesses supposed to thrive if people want to return stuff just because they changed their minds? Now the store is stuck with an opened product that they're forced to either re-sell at a discount or even throw out. I've been buying my own shit since I was 18 and I've never returned anything.

Note: Before I'm ganged up on because of this, I'd like to say that I was inspired to post my thoughts about this subject after watching some youtube videos of people freaking out at Walmart Customer Service desks. People had the dumbest excuses for returning items they purchased, some without a receipt! Many were verbally abusive towards the clerks, making threats and throwing tantrums seemingly for the purpose of having "material" for Youtube. It was shocking watching so people make fools of themselves and these stores are partly to blame for making it too easy to get your money back.

working in retail for a number of years, i've seen and heard all manner of excuses for people wanting to return stuff. i've also seen people return things that were never opened. and they usually say that they just didn't really need/want it or they needed the money for something else.

the only time i've returned things was when they were broken. i've only ever returned something on amazon once. and that was a pair of pants that had a small cut in them. and i know it wasn't from me opening the box because there were 3 pair in the box and this was the bottom pair. but amazon replaced them without question and i returned the first pair.

but i get what you're saying. people return things all the time for dumb reasons. i suspect that most times it's buyer's remorse. or they do the math and realize they can't really afford it. but people do dumb things all the time; always have...always will, unfortunately.

[Show spoiler]there is a scam that people do where they get items for free by doing the buy/return thing.

person 1 comes in and buys some stuff; usually some high-dollar items that total up to a couple/few hundred dollars. and they always pay with cash!

person 1 then leaves the store, with the items, and hands the receipt to person 2

person 2 then comes in and loads up a cart with the exact same items. they then go to the returns department to "return" them and get their money back.

they now have the original high-dollar items and they have the money back.

where i work, we see this at least once a week. it's difficult to catch, but we've gotten pretty good at spotting people who are going to try and do it. we have a code we use when we notice it and it alerts the entire store to be on the lookout for them. we've caught more than have gotten away with it. and there have been a few that have taken a ride with the cops.

There's a couple of online subwoofer makers that stand behind their product and offer free shipping and 30,60 or 90 day return window.
When people are wanting advice on subwoofers, some people say "Get xxx and try it out. Then send it back and try xxx."
The people giving this advice don't understand that these subwoofer makers lose money by doing business in good faith. They know they've made a great product and are standing behind it. Their return policy shouldn't be abused in that way.

I've been meaning to buy a sub from one of those two companies and should get on it. They should be rewarded with my, and others, business.

yeah, unfortunately a lot of people abuse good faith opportunities like that. and it's sad. because once they (the companies) stop, these same people will be all pissed about it and then talk shit about them. when all they had to do in the first place was not be a douche and act like a sensible human being.

Trying to decide if I should buy AirPods for $160.

Our beat up old iHome Dock at work finally died, so we have no radio or can't connect our phones to play music anymore.

The other guys usually sneak headphones even though we're not supposed to use them (they put the wires under their shirts). But the swing shift crew is less strict because the general manager and assistant general manager work 8-4 like my shift does.

I wanted some AirPods to listen to music "on the sneak".

I honestly can't wait for next September. I'm going to upgrade then. They will be 5G and the ugly black bar I hate in the middle of the top will be gone finally.

I've worked for a place that had a one year return policy, and even let people return stuff for the reason of 'I just didn't want it anymore'.

I wonder what ever happened with those two American kids that killed that Italian police officer. I haven't heard any news since they were first arrested. Going to Google and see what's new if anything.

Yeah, I like the company I work for, but they are far too accommodating to customers. It is all about their satisfaction and I feel you have to draw a line somewhere. We had a customer walk away from a killer deal on a propane grill simply because we wouldn’t include a $34 cover with the $150 + tax deal. It was down to $159.99 *******! I was so glad when another customer came in and bought it later that day. I then had another customer call on the phone about a trailer we have discounted from $799.99 to $649.99 in an ad that starts today.

Apparently that wasn’t good enough and they felt it was an additional $150 off the $649.99 the way the ad read. I explained the price and everything to the best of my ability, but they ended up telling me they were taking their business elsewhere. “I’m sorry to hear that sir, I wish there was something I could do to change your mind. Have a nice evening.” was my words to him. I hope it doesn’t bite me in the ass.

How often do you guys buy clothes? I rarely do so I'm always wearing the same stuff. I somehow don't see anything wrong with that. I have a philosophy: when I'm in public, as long as I have clothing on, I don't really care how I look. I have this shirt, all black, that I bought like 10 years ago (maybe longer). I wear it at least once a week. I own 2 pairs of jeans, one of which I rarely wear because they're a bit uncomfortable. I'm a clean freak so I visit the Laundromat often - washing my stuff isn't a problem, it's just I have no interest in expanding my wardrobe.

I just bought some jeans and hoodies a month ago.
I buy jeans at least within every two years. One or two tops throughout the year.
I always buy Levis 501's and was happy that I got a deal, just like the deals that Sears use to have.

I'm hoping that it won't rain today. I have to get my truck ready for a roadtrip.
I'll spend a week with family, go to The Oilers first game of the year and go see the new Joker movie. It's gonna be blast!

My daughter asked me this morning if she can try out for cheerleading...has Hell officially froze over? I can't see her jumping up and down in a skirt and pom poms yelling cheers. I dunno, I support whatever she wants to do but I still can't see it.
