I would imagine so since Disney is on board with the UHD technology. That said, I would still go with the 3D blu-ray even if I had a UHD TV/player.

True. The world is dominated by a competition for ideas, film critics occupy their small division in the battle. BUT...this means we aren't animals and honey bees and plankton, and we have free thought, so the good news is, as annoying as some opinions are, we're not controlled by them and we can do our own thing.

Is IMDb reliable for that sort of thing? Cuz they say it is.

IMDB also had 4K DIs listed for Jurassic World, Genisys, Rogue Nation in advance...and they all ended up at 2K, even the latter which didn't get a 3D finish!

I remain very sceptical that it'll get a 4K finish (3D and IMAX digital presentations are locked at 2K, for example) but it would be GREAT if it did.

Ah damn, didn't know about the false info on the other movies. MI5 is disappointing but hey, it's one more title I don't need to worry about upgrading to UHD. Did Star Trek Into Darkness have a 4K DI? If it did then there's hope for this.

‘Star Wars’ Has No Ending: Kennedy, Kasdan, and Abrams on the “Forever Franchise”

Quote:
Perhaps it’s fitting that the last time Star Wars was on the big screen, it was for the prequels—a straight shot of films that may not have been good, but they fit the linear franchise mold of the time. However, thanks to Marvel and the rise of television, that linear format is gone. Now is the time of shared universes and huge storylines, and Disney is ready. For them, there’s no beating Star Wars into the ground. In a massive feature on the future of Star Wars, Wired writes:

"The company intends to put out a new Star Wars movie every year for as long as people will buy tickets. Let me put it another way: If everything works out for Disney, and if you are (like me) old enough to have been conscious for the first Star Wars film, you will probably not live to see the last one. It’s the forever franchise."

In a way, I agree. There is no true ending because somewhere someone is doing something that could start up yet another adventure. Just because one story ends doesn't mean there isn't another story taking place.

Yup. A month tonight I will be sitting in a theater seeing something I never thought would ever come to fruition.

Finally bought tickets . This'll be my first experience with IMAX 3D on a real IMAX screen. I'm not 100% on 3D so I hope I like it.

So I wasn't gonna watch this but... the hype got to me, so...

Got a ticket for 2:30pm on Dec. 18 to see this in 15/70mm IMAX 2D.

Now I just gotta make up the hours earlier that week... but yeah, I'm getting stoked.

This made me laugh. All the people that have been pretending they are not going to go watch the biggest movie event in a decade and then giving in over hype. You were always gonna go see it, don't lie to yourselves people
