My local Fopp has everything in.

I already have all of the Kitano films, Love Exposure, and Confessions.

Are there any other Third Window films you folks would strongly recommend at £6 a piece?

Yes! If you like Love Exposure, definitely all the Sono titles. Well, I'm a big Sion Sono fan, but I'd say, Cold Fish for sure, and Himizu would be my second choice after that.

I also think Miike's Lesson of Evil is a must, but be warned it's a pretty extreme movie...
[Show spoiler]baaaaasssically it's a comedy about a school shooting.

Also, Shinya Tsukamoto's movies! Safest bet/best introduction if you're not familiar with his work, is Tetsuo: The Iron Man, but my personal fave is Tokyo Fist.

Reserved Kids Return at my local Fopp to get on the weekend.

In regards to other titles, I'd recommmend A Snake of June, Bullet Ballet, The Land of Hope and Lesson of Evil very highly.

If any of you strapping folks wouldn't mind picking up Ruined Heart for me (with good condition slip), I'd be very grateful and would be sure to return the favour one day. I see it's £6 which is an incredible price.

Please PM me if you are able to. Cheers!

Damn, £6 is an amazing price for Ruined Heart. I paid about twice that and was very happy, it's a great film, and quite unusual.
I see Underwater Love is also there, can't see a price, but if it's £3 like the other DVDs then that's a bargain for another LE set with a CD.

Also, I've had an email from amazon telling me the pre-order for Fires on the Plain has moved up from November to September. Hope this means they've had some joy with the distribution issues previously mentioned and we get some more announcements for this year.

That price is a mistake. It shouldn't have been racked up at that price, so it'll probably just stay like that for another few days!

Glad I got it at that price then when I visted Fopp. I would feel guilty but I did pick up 17 dvds and 7 Blu-rays to add to my smallish Third Window Films collection.

Excellent news! And thank you for scheduling the next Kitano literally 2 days after my birthday. Definitely getting that one as a present to myself!

Interested to see the Tsukamoto too (and would love to see someone release the Ichikawa version one day too...probably Eureka, Arrow or Criterion I'm guessing).

That's a shame, I was going to try and pick it up if it came in stock at my local Fopp. Do you know what the price is supposed to be?

To be honest, it wasn't supposed to be in there at all, and i was pretty surprised to see jt there, especially at £6!
As i can't pull it, it'll go to £10 I'd imagine

That's still a perfectly reasonable price. Does it mean you're making something of a loss on it?

it was a super expensive set. 18 page booklet, bluray, cd, slipcase, etc
The CD needed to pay royalty rights too, so all in all it was a very "labour of love" type of release, which won't really turn too much a profit, and will lose if prices aren't properly racked as per fopp!
