I didn't think much of Skyfall too, but I'd take that a thousand times over anything they did in the Brosnan era.

Actually they didn't write Tomorrow Never Dies, that was Bruce Feirstein. They've been penning the scripts since The World Is Not Enough. Their sole offering without any other co-writers was Die Another Day.

I'm guessing they get hired because they're lapdogs for Wilson and Broccoli.

Oh I see. TND was the film with Jonathan Pryce as the media mogul? That was alright... and I'm not saying that because it wasn't penned by the terrible two, lol.

I think Craig and the hiring of Mendes has a lot to do with the rise in quality of the stories for the recent films (I'm assuming Spectre will be pretty decent). I imagine none of the previous two want to work from the type of script that made Die Another Day such a joke.

Why am I struggling to get excited about this? I'm not sure what it is but both trailers have left me cold. Maybe the leak killed any excitement I could have had for the film, given we know pretty much everything about it already.

I'm the opposite, I'm pumped for this film. Admittedly I avoided the leak and any spoilers.

Holy cinematography, Batman! It looks breathtakingly beautiful! Not to mention the film looks like a wild ride!

FINALLY we're getting a Craig Bond shot in anamorphic, I'm loving the look of it. Loved the OHMSS nod in the music too, I am officially excited for this now.

Now I feel bad, I didn't even consider that. I only took the geograpahic distance into account. Like how I as a Swede could have mentioned Denmark if it was a similar situation. My bad.

Really nice trailer, but it's laughable at this point that they're trying to say Waltz isn't Blofeld. Even when they finally show him, the right side of his face is completely obscured. I wonder why....

EDIT: They show his whole face at the end, but still... come on, he HAS to be.

What's really, really weird is that pic we saw of Waltz with the dots on his face for CG tracking. So are we to assume that his scarring is completely CG? Because if so, WTF? Why would it not be a make up effect, seriously. The CG face work they did on Silva briefly in Skyfall was pretty awful.

Not only that, but if Waltz ends up being Blofeld and ends up returning for multiple movies, they've basically committed to CGI face regardless of how it looks. They're either confident or cocky about it. Either way, I can't wait to see it!

I think they are making a real mistake not just coming out and saying he is Blofeld. The movie IS called Spectre. There has already been a script leak. Just denying it makes everyone involved look stupid. Star Trek had the same issue with Khan, and it was a disaster. It is okay if the audience knows it is Blofeld and Bond doesn't. But if they are expecting there to be major suspense with the sudden reveal that the main villain is Blofeld, they are sadly mistaken.

I don't think keeping a lid on it is gonna ruin the movie or anything, at least for me (I haven't read anything from the leaks, but going off of what we've seen, Blofeld is pretty obvious). But you're right that there won't really be any surprise. The Khan/John Harrison stuff in STiD didn't ruin that movie for me, either.

Trailer is alright, I'm not nearly as pumped by it as I was by the teaser. Being a movie about SPECTRE, if there isn't a Blofeld in it, I'll be pretty pissed off when I walk out of that theater.

He lived in Wales for four years, that's enough for us, to consider him Welsh. It's not like his parents were on holiday or taking a day-trip (although I think Canada has rules like that!).
