Same here. I ordered it with The Protege 4K which I should have tomorrow or Tuesday. No movement on Scream though.

Is the uncut/NC-17 version of Scream available on blu-ray internationally?

watched the first 15 minutes, the 4k master appears to be dull(colors)
very weird knowing craven movies shows high propensity for pop colors
lovely red
in brief i think i prefer the old blu ray, full of edge enhancement, colors appears to be more in my taste
waiting for caps now, to see if i'm blind

perception is also linked to the mechanisms of cognition
pretty sure, i'm the first common guy to made a brief review on this one
so don't blame on me if i'm wrong

at least,It is an undeniable fact that the edge effect disappear

This this is why I wish a studio who gave a damn had the rights to all dimension miramax titles I hate that these titles are treated like garbage.

Did you watch it in Dolby Vision? I watched it in HDR10, it's far better in colors. I then checked it with DV, the colors were lifeless and timid yes !

So they botched the dolby vision because Dolby vision usually looks better than that.

Yeah I know this is weird but the Dolby Vision looked more cinematic with less colors to me where the HDR10 colors popped!

Try some scenes in HDR10 (like the 'video rental store' scene where colors popped for instance) and tell me if you feel the same !

Did you, by any chance, watch a 4K rip in PQ on an SDR display without applying any HDR=>SDR conversion?

i've just watched again the first drew barrymore sequence, difference between hdr10 and dolby vision is night and day,
hdr10 is the way to see the movie as it was intented

thank you again for your advise
by the way ,if dolby choosed dull colors to be more cinematic look alike,i remember pretty well, that scream had mesmerizing colors in theater
so they're really made a mistake this time

The differences between Dolby Vision and HDR10 come down to the TV and the way it processes images as well as the player itself. Some TVs do a better job with HDR10 than Dolby Vision. Other TVs can't process HDR10 very well. This is where Dolby Vision is beneficial to those TVs.

Other factors come into play like if the TV is calibrated or not or are there certain settings that are "On" or "Off" that shouldn't be on or should be switched "On". So before saying the Dolby Vision version of the film is crap, look at your TV or player and see if it's better at processing HDR10 or Dolby Vision.

Cool so I'm not the only one who thought the Dolby Vision was not that 'great' for once. For those who like seeing the movie with a very cinematic filter, you'll love it though ! But yeah I was surprised how different they both looked.

Been waiting for that "it's not that great/the HDR made everything look too bright/dark" post so I can quit stalking this thread and go back to my mediocre blu ray copy and save myself $23.

As I said, some TVs do a better job at processing HDR10, so the Dolby Vision version of the film may actually have a little less "pop" than the HDR10 version.

You also have to consider that your A90J has a built in Dynamic Tone Mapping function and depending on that setting you have it on, the HDR on the HDR10 version of a movie may pop out more than it should be. Again, there are lots of things to consider before saying the film's Dolby Vision version sucks.
