Hey folks,

I just purchased a pair of Studio 20 v.2 bookshelf speakers, which I will be using for my fronts to replace my Polk Monitor 50 floorstanding speakers.

I was wondering, are there any good stands out there for a $100 - $150 price range to hold these speakers? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Here's a good pair that sort of looks like Paradigms J-Model Stands. I would get the same height Paradigm recommends for the 20's - nothing shorter than 29".

Link

Free shipping - $20 more for the 29" and still in your price range..

Thank you so much for your reply! Yes, those stands look just like the J series stands.

My question - is that this will be the first time I will be putting bookshelf speakers like these on to stands. How do they securely mount on the stands themselves? Adhesive, strap....Velcro? lol Thanks!!

The J-Model Stands have screws that match the holes under Paradigms Bookshelves but I don't know many other speakers that have the same. I used Blu-Tack at first which is very solid and decouples the speakers from the stands but since I got little kids running around I used the screws just in case. Blu tack was recommended to me by my dealer and you reallly don't need that much - prabably a dime size on each corner.. You can get some at creaft stores like Michaels..

I was wondering if anyone has compared the ADP-190 vs. ADP-390 speakers? I currently have Monitor 9's and CC-290 all V6. I'm running some sub-par speakers for surrounds right now. Just wondering if there's a substantial difference in sound to warrant the extra cost. Thanks.

It's a cooling fan by Antec and it works very well. Thanks for asking. Got it from Amazon $79.

Aesthetically, your set-up is one of the best I have seen Hulk.....it is balanced, well organized and just plain sharp looking with all the black......very classy!

thats a very nice looking setup.

Sorry, I just thought about something in your setup.

Would it be better to move the subs to the side walls maybe halfway between where your screen is and your sitting position so that you could move the towers away from the wall to give them space to breathe? Rather then tucked in the corner.

Sorry, not trying to be rude, just thought I would see what you think of that idea. Corner placement and near walls is not usually ideal for speakers.

Thanks all very much for your great comments, glad you all enjoy the pic's as much as I enjoy listening to them.
Hey callas01 the towers have about 21/2 feet behind them and the subs usually in the down firing position. I turned up-write just for the photo gallery. The've always sound great. But I like your idea and think I'm going to try that this weekend. Thanks for the input.

That is a good idea callas....I would like to know what you think of this set-up Hulk when you try it out. I used to have my 2 subs in the middle of the 2 side walls, and I had the best sounding and accurate bass I have ever had in that location. However, new furniture required me to move them to where they are now. Let us know how those fronts sound with the extra room to "breathe."

Now you! Have me wondering what that's going to sound like I would do it tonight but I putting a platform under the Onkyo and adding a base/shelf on the bottom of the A/V bench for the Oppo due to popular demand lol

Traitor........
I need to lower your gallery's rating.....

Hahahahaha just kidding. Looks great. Got a chance to play break in the system and test it out? How do you like it compared to the Aperion? Man, I forgot how massive the cc390 was.

Hey Kali, Can you find it in your heart to forgive me. lol.
I do still think the 6c is one of the best looking center channels that I've ever seen. I pretty much reached the 6b's and the 6c's limits and they left me wanting more. So far the paradigms have been able to satisfy my hunger for more power. With a little help from the monoblocks of course.
I hope you're still enjoying your 6c

Looks Good B.Hulk!! I'm very familiar with the sound of the Monitors but I've never heard any Aperions. Have you noticed any major differences between them besides being able to play louder?

Also I think you got them placed okay. It's not right against the side wall and they're a bit toed-in so the side wall reflections shouldn't affect it as bad as if you were to have them pointed straight out. They also seem to have good space behind - at least the speaker depth.. Play around with it though and see how you like it best. It took me a bit of playing around with spacing and toe in before getting it to sound it's best with both bass and imaging..

And I added your UPA-1's to the gear list on the first post.. x 3

And that's a good price too as you can order them directly from the manufacturer for $129.

Amazon's price is now $69, the lowest online. However I just spotted that Fry's is having a sale on these for $39 + $7 shipping. I just ordered one for my Onkyo TX-SR805 for US$47 shipped, great deal!

Link to Fry's sale price $39.99 if anyone's interested - http://www.frys.com/product/5260037
