I'd imagine that if a lot of the Fox or MGM titles are going OOP due to rights, Criterion would give people a head's up like when a slew of StudioCanal titles did.

Though, given that they just announced a newly restored Fox title (Claudine) and continue to get content from MGM for the Channel, I think the only OOP titles would be surprises at this point. Or maybe some of the earliest releases will get replaced with newer editions.

Anyone having issues with receiving shipments?
I ususally get my B&N orders super quick, but the order I placed- shipped on the 14th and has been sitting at my local USPS station for the past 4 days !?!
I don't understand why it hasn't been put a truck for delivery.
There doesn't seem to be a number to call- Barnes and noble? USPS?

You're not alone. I ordered two movies and a preorder (The Lady Eve). Received the first two movies faster than I expected but the preorder has been in a UPS facility in my homestate since the 16th. Last update said they were transferring to USPS for final delivery on the 17th. Still no sign of it. Usually gets delivered (during corona) no later than 3-4 days after reaching that UPS facliity. So it's taking a bit longer than usual.

What made me hopeful was it was listed as Restored by: Fox/Criterion/Disney. Maybe it doesn't mean anything, but I like to cling to the opinion that Disney will allow Criterion to release some of the restored Fox titles to home video.

I'm hoping Criterion focuses on more hidden French gems around the 70s!

I wrote a letter of suggestions to them a few days ago and I included a few French titles, mostly from Duras and Resnais. I don't expect them to reply since they only replied to one out of three of my suggestion emails (The one email that they replied on was suggesting Memories of Murder for a release and they replied that it was belated. Note this was a year ago)

Smoking/No Smoking is at the top of my wanted Resnais list! I wish Criterion would jump on releasing more Resnais!

I only had a couple of wants this time, so grabbed Come and See from Wow and will wait till the next flash sale to grab any others.

I had so much fun with the B&N sales over the years - including all the weirdness and uncertainty -that I actually miss taking part! I think how bad B&N are made it something of a game and a challenge to get stuff through
I feel for you. There have been lots of comments in various threads about the impact of current events on product availability/shipping options from various vendors - and the only thing that seems to be consistent is the inconsistency.

Hopefully, you'll be able to rejoin the "fun" in November.

Just picked up the only copy near me at my local B&N and since it's not available online I didn't have much of a choice. It was spider-wrapped of course and almost didn't get it but the lady offered me another $8 off for the damage so I grabbed it. I have a bid on a copy on Ebay but if that falls through I'll just keep this one. I just really wanna watch these films, never had them on blu before.

It looks like the initial pressing of the Bruce Lee box set is sold out for now. Will probably have to grab it during the next sale.

Went out to Barnes today on a whim.

Very surprised to find a mint copy of the Bruce Lee set available.

Felt so exhilarating, that I decided to grab The Great Escape and Until The End Of The World as well.

Now I have no choice but to pick up some double shifts at work.

This collection is phenomenal. The transfers are pristine. The previous dvd copy of Big Boss that I owned looks like watching it through muddy water compared to this release. Bravo.

Leave Her to Heaven, The Cranes are Flying, and The War of the Worlds for me. Had to keep things in check a bit.

There was never any serious discussions about it coming to Criterion. It popped up on Filmstruck with a C on the cover and people said it was coming. But as far as I remember nothing serious was mentioned.

It'd be a waste of a release anyways, just like The Breakfast Club or All About Eve.

The current Blu-ray is great.
