How many chances? We've seen this play out many times over and it always ends the same. Even pro football leagues that successfully create a niche market for themselves (Arena League) have barely survived after folding once or twice.

I actually did kind of enjoy the AAF for what it was. I'd love to see the XFL succeed, providing some sort of football in the dead months of the year. I just don't see a viable path for it catching on well enough to make the economics work. At the end of the day expecting people to pay good money to see in person, or take the time to watch on TV, a league where the top players on the level of Landry Jones, Aaron Murray, Connor Cook, and Trey Williams, without much product differentiation.

They're lying their asses off. They know good and well that if Meyer showed even a tiny hint of interest in the job they'd be on their knees begging. Truth is FSU is in crisis right now. Much of the university's most senior administration are out or believed to be on their way out in the near future, in addition to some real financial difficulties. They're probably not getting anyone on their B list, maybe even C list for that job.

You're kidding, right? Urban Meyer is an Urban Meyer guy, above all. He wasn't a UF guy even when he coached there. He was never beloved by Gator fans, and it was always obvious to me that he was never really comfortable there. I don't think Urban will be taking another job anytime soon. If and when he does coach again I tend to think it would be at Notre Dame.

According to Young himself, the issue stems from a loan that he took from a family friend.

"Unfortunately, I won't be playing this week because of an NCAA eligibility issue," Young said in a statement posted to his Twitter account. "I made a mistake last year by accepting a loan from a family friend I've known since the summer before my freshman year at OSU. I repaid it in full last summer and I'm working with the University and NCAA to get back on the field as soon as possible.

"I want to thank my family, teammates, coaches and the whole Ohio State community for all the love and support. God bless and go Bucks!"
